The welcome from all staff was excellent. We stayed here overnight whilst moving my son home from Aberyswth university so the hotel was in excellent location. On the morning of the move the hotel even made bacon toasties for my son and his flatmate when we asked if this was possible, nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended. Warm welcome and a warm room. Lean thick rashers of bacon served on heated plates for breakfast, wide choice of both first and second courses. Quiet location while being very near the town centre. 3ply+ toilet paper!! and fluffy towels, heated towel rail in the bathroom, welcomed as it was the extremely cold weather.

Room was large, bright, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated with all the usual facilities. Beds very comfortable and bathroom looked almost new. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We liked the friendly welcome at 10.30pm. We had just booked an hour earlier and they weren't expecting any more guests. Booking was on their fax machine. Nice and quiet room. Good bed and shower. Absolutely superb full English breakfast. Friendly staff 8am as well. Makes a difference. We were greeted by the owner who was very friendly and helpful giving me directions to church where wedding was being held. Rooms spacious and warm and linen & towels were clean. Good selection at breakfast and vegetarian options. Our room was very comfortable with lovely views of the country-side. The breakfast was excellent - impossible to eat it all although we tried! We were given a very warm welcome by the owners and would certainly go there again. The location was convenient to Aberystwyth although a fairly busy road the hotel is well back and no noise problem. The en-suite also had plenty of room and was nice and clean. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was efficiently served and delicious. A good base to operate from going into Aber, only 30 minutes walking and excellent river paths to follow. Found an excellent pub for food nearby called the The Staring Cloud. The Manageress, Gloria, was very obliging when I discovered that I had lost a silver ring. She found it and posted it to me by first class mail to my next address. Best breakfast of our Welsh 'mini' tour. Staff excellent,and management were so kind in cancelling our friends booking,at short notice,due to a family bereavement. It is quiet, peaceful and "comfy". The shower was a bit fiddly. Advertisement listed that a restaurant was included but we found that was not the case. A little bit 'tired' in condition. Room was a bit cold although two radiators in it. Pity they did not do other meals. It would be nice to have some biscuits . Nothing. The loud talking in the corridor when trying to sleep!. Can not think of anything!. Nothing. Multi coloured carpets !. Finding the hotel after dark was difficult for a Canadian used to lighted signs. Perhaps a simple solar powered stand alone panel an your sign would help. The breakfast staff need to be a little more welcoming the What would you like bit was automatic. They were not rude in any way but were brusque, the food was good value thanks. The stair carpet was a bit shabby and let down the appearance on arrival. (Not much of a problem at all really, but would make a difference). In the warm weather you need to have the windows and it's right on a main road so a bit noisy. The rooms are modest in size, wile being satisfactory. Nothing. no fans in room for hot nights. Food in the evening would have been a nice extra but plenty of places to eat a short distance away .. At breakfast no menu on tables, so you did'nt know if there were any choices available. Service was a bit slow. none. No wifi although advertised. The breakfast times were very limited 8am - 9am. If you wanted a lie in or were struggling getting children ready it was very limited. A little too warm, but then again, the weather had been cold!. Sheets, duvet seemed to travel down bed in the night and not want to come back up again (small point considering it was Summer and warm anyway). we would have liked to have been a bit nearer the town. Double room was a bit cramped but acceptable for one night whilst the twin room was very large. Seemed the rooms could be differently arranged. Decor and furniture a bit dated, wi fi did not work too well. Not very flexible on breakfast times (8am - 9am). I was travelling for business and needed to che3ck out at 07.30am - and no alternative was offered.
