  Standard of the hotel and its location is perfect for exploring the historic parts of Istanbul - First the location of the hotel is great (city center, major attractions close to hotel).   The history: Agatha Christie wrote her [Murder on the Orient Express] at this hotel. There is a small exhibition area on the fourth floor about this and other historic moments. The elevator from 1895 can still run (though not always in use). They sell postcards and other souvenirs about the hotel at the front desk. Really a piece of history! The c... hva folk sier » oncierge Evren is superb, recommending us of fantastic restaurants (usually nearby, as the location is great) and tours and activities. The Breakfast - A classic hotel, which I've used twice before, in 1995 & 2005, before its recent refurbishment. It's now three times the price, but the grandeur is no longer faded, it's now a true 5-star place. And I'm delighted to say that the refurb hasn't spoilt its character at all, as this is a hotel with more character and history than most! Staff were great, we got a room upgrade, and an extra hour extended checkout wasn't a problem. If we return to Istanbul, it'll be the Pera Palas for us!

  A true Ritz Hotel. The spa is fantastic. The rooms are large and have a nice view. Services are 5*. Great food also. - An exellent quality of the hotel and the room. The staff is very friendly. The location is very convenient
