  Malaysia used to be a backpacker or old Asia hands and partly "specialised clientele" kind of hotel. I lived in the neighborhood for 8 years and only went to use their fax machine. Back in BKK for a few days, and reading how the newest, modern facilities in Si Bamphen were quickly deteriorating, I was intrigued by some recent good comments about ... hva folk sier » the Malaysia. There were right. Malaysia has retained some of it's "old Asia hand" customers, but is now also booked by families and groups of young - Friendly and efficient reception staff. Good security. Homely feel...wonderfully 1960s ambience and a nice location within easy reach of Silom, the park etc but not too "in the midst of it all" .

  The stuff is really awesome. A lady of the reception can speak English very well. We got a inform that we couldn't get a triple room as we booked when we checked in, cuz the room's toilet couldn't work, but she ranged a deluxe room which was really comfortable for us soon, and there was no other people in there except my friends. The reception staff is very nice and friendly. My room is so clean, the pillow and blanket are comfort as same in stars level hotel. This is one of best hostel I lived in BKK.

  This hotel is a hidden treasure .. It exceeded my exceptions and I give it 3 stars instead of 2. Location is perfect as its next to Sala Daeng Station (less than 1 minute walking), next to many restaurants (Subway, Pizza Hut, KFC, Mac, ..), and 7-Elevens are everywhere.   For us it was a oasis in a caotic city. Our room was big, bed and pillows are very good and bathroom has a excellent shower. Ar conditioned work great in a extremelly hot city. Location ins between two Skytrain. So it is easy to go to places that Skytrain or subway can leave you. And that is a problem for Bangkok, not a hotel issue. Hotel dos not offer breakfest, but s easy to buy food near - Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend emailing to let staff know if you need to check in late as reception is not usually open 24 hours - but we emailed to let them know we were arriving at about 11.30pm and they were happy to make sure someone was there when we arrived. Very convenient location for the Skytrain, 2 stops on the Skytrain to the river where you can catch the Chao Phrayo Express and Tourist boats. The free mini bananas were a nice touch.
