was booked up on this occasion. This was a great alternative. It's a
hotel so very comfortable dorm rooms and nice bathroom. And right in the
middle of atmospheric Chinatown. Would definitely stay here again. -

This is a hidden gem in the heart of busy Bangkok. It is situated in a small street off a main street in the old town of Bangkok. Very close to the famous Khaosan road and relatively close to the Royal Palace, The Emerald Buddha and the Reclining Buddha. Baan Sukhumvit 18 is in a great location. It's 5 minutes walk from Asok BTS station which is very central. We got a Thai Sim from the airport (200 bhat for free data for 7 days & 100 bhat credit) so finding the hotel with Google maps was easy. The staff here are absolutely lovely, very warm & friendly. The location is excellent having good access to Asoke Skytrain and MRT. From the moment we entered the hotel we were greeted with a friendly smile. The room although not huge was large enough for our five night stay with modern facilities and a well equipped modern bathroom. We were on the fourth floor with absolutely no street noise whatsoever. Price isn't too bad if you take into account the location. I would stay there again.

I enjoy staying at this hotel because it is away from the tourist areas of Bangkok. If you like to be closer to the business or tourist areas, this is not for you. I like the quiter area and more authentic Thai feel here. And it is a good value for the money. Close to a canal, where you can get a water taxi across the city, as well. -
