Staff is very friendly and helpful.
And the island is AMAZING to visit, but you need a car and have to be aware to drive a bit if you really want to enjoy it. -

Lovely mansion converted into a small hotel with a lot of character. There is plenty of parking space for hotel guests. Excellent service at a very charming chateau. It is super romantic with antic furniture a nice salon and a cozy library! There is no TV in the room but a fireplace.
You can enjoy the beautiful garden which offer nice little seating possibilities so you can write your post cards or enjoy a good glas of wine.

The hotel is located on the plaza in the middle of old town Kalmar where plenty of shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Because there is no A/C it can be a little noisy at night with the windows open but they provide ear plugs. Fans are provided as well. Great place to stay with kids. Huge yard with a nice safe playground where they can be watched over a cold beer at the terrace. The sauna by the lake is just OK if you're Finnish and very nice if you're anyone else.
