Very quiet, beautiful oceanfront hotel. Nice atmosphere, helpful staff. Will return!
Near the hotel there is no road, it is impossible to walk only along the beach in the morning and in the evening only tuk-tuk. Spa expensive
1. Staff were very friendly and helpful 2. Very Clean 3. Beach ans sea were the best you will get anywhere 4. Food was tasty and well presented 5. Good awareness and control of mosquitoes.
1. Not for young families as only stairs. 2. No control over flies. insecto-cutors would help to control. 3. All toilets did not flush properly. 4. Allowing typical ignorant Germans to book places everywhere in advance. 5. Butter was some form of oil base spread and not good. 6. 4.5 hour car journey from the airport and the same on the return.

I liked the location and the view and sounds of the sea. I also like the pool and sunloungers.
It was overpriced for what you got. The food wasn't great and was quite expensive. There were some interesting characters on the beach. Whilst I liked Bentota, women travelling on their own in Bentota need to be vigilant and keep their wits about them.
The hotel is directly on the beach and is opposite the local train station. The maid also made a real effort of making the bed look very nice every morning with fresh flowers etc.
The hotel layout was very poor, the rooms looked tired and worn (pebble dash walls inside hotel room!, Soap trays were rusted etc). There seems to be lots of building work going on next door although it was reasonably quiet. Staff could have done more to keep the beach clean.
