  Overall the accommodation was excellent, it is a self catering apartment and you should never lose sight of that. We loved staying here and would definitely return in the future, ok the toilet roll did not get replaced and the towels were not changed in the five days we were there but you have to be practical about it.   The location was perfect, just off the main square in the lovely historical centre so close to restuarants and the main sights. Despite this, it was reasonably quiet at night as we had the penthouse apartment on the 5th floor, and also nice and dark as the big French windows have shutters and blinds. Warm atmosphere, good information available at reception. - The hostel is very basic but practical and ideal for those on a budget. Centrally located, it is an ideal base when exploring the city and the surrounding areas. I opted for my own bathroom which was well worth the additional 4 euros per day. I'm often concerned about security in Hostels but this was diminished in El Cid completely - I felt comfortable leaving my belongings in my room when out and about.
