Trogon House offers treetop accommodation in the Tsitsikamma Forest, 15 minutes’ drive from the beaches of Plattenberg Bay. It features a lounge with antique furniture and stone fireplace, a pool with wooden sundeck and a spa. All of the rooms include a flat-screen satellite TV and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the surrounding indigenous forest. Some have a private furnished balcony or a spacious lounge. A daily continental or cooked breakfast is served in the Palazzo Dining Suite and 3-course dinners can be arranged on request. Drinks can be ordered at the bar and enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the pool. The Forest Spa includes a hot tub and sauna. Various natural treatments and massages can be enjoyed while relaxing with an outlook to the forest. Situated on the Garden Route, Trogon House and Forest Spa is a 20-minute drive from Nature’s Valley. Birds of Eden bird sanctuary is within 2 minutes by car.

Amazing location in the tree canopies - absolutely lovely. Well designed retreat. The Spa was excellent and the staff very friendly.The food was first class. the house itself is fantastic, specially the spa area. Highly recommendable to book the spa at night. The atmosphere is very romantic, calm and unique. The best accomodation I stayed at in a long time. Everything was wonderful, romantic and beautiful.

Please note that a deposit via bank wire is required to secure your reservation. Trogon House and Forest Spa will contact you with instructions after booking. Please note that the last 1.4 km prior to the entrance of Trogon House is a dirt road, please proceed slowly when travelling on this road.

Offering a spa centre and hot tub, Trogon House and Forest Spa is set in The Crags. The bed and breakfast has a seasonal outdoor pool and terrace, and guests can enjoy a drink at the bar. Free private parking is available on site. All rooms include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels. Some units have a seating area where you can relax. You will find a kettle in the room. All rooms are fitted with a private bathroom. For your comfort, you will find free toiletries and a hair dryer. Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary is a few steps from Trogon House Forest Spa, while Monkeyland Primate Sanctuary is a few steps away.

Travelling information

Directions from Cape Town: Trogon House and Forest Spa is situated about 150 km from Mossel Bay and about 50 km from Knysna. The location is The Crags, which is 16 km east from Plettenberg Bay. - Take the N2 towards Knysna and Plettenberg Bay and continue past Keurboomstrand to The Crags. - You will notice a Monkeyland sign on the N2, near the BP Garage (the Garage is also known as the Garden Route Superrette). - Take the turn-off on the right at the BP Garage and follow the Monkeyland signs for a further 2km. - The entrance to Trogon House is situated in the car park of Monkeyland. - The road to Trogon House is indicated with a sign marked "Trogon House & Forest Spa”. Here you enter a dirt road that takes a you straight into the forest. - After a 1.4km drive along the fence of Monkeyland a sign will direct you to turn right to the Trogon House carpark. Please note that you are driving into the forest to get to Trogon House and the last 1.4 km is a dirt road which is subject to weather conditions and can sometimes be uneven and muddy after rain but is fine for a normal 2x4 car.
