  Not an ultramodern hotel but rather a well maintained hotel with a more genteel feel. The rooms were nicely sized, comfortable bed and kept spotless by the staff. The rooms were well soundproofed so you had no extraneous noise from other rooms. The restaurant was pleasant and the food well above average. As others have noted, the breakfast really ... hva folk sier » sets you up for the day. The hotel is quite well placed in a slightly quieter part of town next to the parliament buildings but only a 10 minute strol - Staff eager to help us as we arrived early were leaving late and had to leave luggage at hotel. We were upgraded to double rooms with views of Table Top. A cheap taxi ride or walk from all the major city sites. Excellent breakfast included. Rooms spacious with all facilities. Compared with our hotel in Rio on the same trip and for the same price Townhouse was streets ahead. Can't wait to go back to Cape Town and when I do there's only one place I'll be staying - The Townhouse.

  We found the place extremely and pleasantly private. Despite knowing that there were a large number of cars in the guesthouse parking area, we barely saw anyone over our two night stay, except for during breakfast and the mass check-out exodus. The guesthouse is very conveniently located in relation to the main street in Franschhoek, but yet still... hva folk sier » is able to maintain a country feel to the location. The rooms are extremely chic, attractive and very comfortable. - Lavender Farm is perfect,the position is amazing,and the rooms superb.The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are cleaned and tidied every day .Everything is great about this place,I feel a little reluctant to give this review as I fear others will stay here and make it difficult to get a place for next year!!

  We were received by Gene with a wonderful smile, vastly compensating the tiring flight from Europe. She made our week-long stay a memorable experience. The breakfast was great.
