Everything. Igor is one of the nicest owners you could deal with. He really makes the stay that bit more enjoyable. We were there at a time when Prague was flooded so we stayed in Bratislava an extra night and he gave us a great deal. Helpful, informative and genuine. The room itself was great. Nice modern bathroom, decent beds, free wi-fi, plenty of space. The location is also ideal. Less than 5 mins walk from the Old Town with loads of good places right on the doorstep including the fantastic.
alle vurderinger » I was warmly welcomed by the owner like in a 5 star hotel - he showed me to my room, explained everything about how to use the equipment in the room. The room was nice and spacious with bathroom inside the room which was maintained in a very good condition. There is a kettle in the room, some dishes and cutlery. You can even get iron and hairdryer on request. On the corridor there is also a fridge for your disposal. Location was superb and Igor is an amazing host with boundless energy. We had a big room with a double and 2 single beds that could be made into a double if necessary. Would more than happily stay there again and recommend it to anyone after a budget stay in the centre of town. Igor and his wife were excellent hosts and very helpful. We had the Quadruple room and the facilities were great. We were not looking for a party hostel, just a nice place to sleep for our one night stay in Bratislava and Hyde Park Hostel was perfect for that!. The owner Igor is very cool and seems friendly. We stayed in a private room which was huge, had a fresh bathroom but the bed/mattress was hard. There are convenience stores maybe 100m from the hostel, and across the street there is an excellent Restaurant. The host Igor was the friendliest and most helpful hostel worker that I have come across,nothing was too much trouble for him. When I am next in Bratislava I will definitely stay there again!! There's no breakfast but there's a McDonalds accross the street and several other options on the same street. The street is busy day and night. There is tramway just under the windows and lots of pubs for noisy night life :/ Otherwise everything was perfect!. We arrived in the middle of a heat wave and the lack of air-con did cause me some problems as we only had one fan to share between the 2 of us. Opening windows just let too much light and noise in making a good nights sleep hard to get,. The beds were a little uncomfortable, but only a little. Really, I have no complaints. The rooms have windows facing the backyard where there is a bar/restaurant which was a bit noisy (not so much that it would have bothered us) and strangely the bars were closed during the weekend and open only on weekdays... You have to make your own bed, not that I really mind, but except for this, this place is really a hotel instead of a hostel. You can only pay with cash. a bit noisy if you open your window - tram passing by, but this is understandable if staying at the centre. The area is not the nicest - lots of grafitti and some street and pub noises in the evening/night. HP was perfect for my one night stay, only bad thing I can say is that it is a little tired around the edges. There's a bar at the inner yard which is pretty noisy at nights. No air conditionning in the room which becomes very hot at the end of a warm summer day. The only inconvenient was the metro station just in front of the hostel for the noise in the early morning. It was all fine. Theres only a fan instead of aircon. Hyde Park is also a pub, which cause a lot of noise, if your room is located to the backside of the street. I've experienced some problems with wifi connection. Not so cheap if you consider that this is Bratislava. WiFi connectivity was iffy at times. No common area to meet other travellers. Blinds let in a lot of light. A bit noisy street, it misses shampoo and shower gel. we could make the price a little cheaper. The room lacked air conditioner. You have to make your bed (hostel style) No hair drier. Lots of stairs!. Wifi. Wifi sometimes does not work well. nothing. Tram outside can be a lite bit noise. No issue for me, i had earpluggs ;-). Bed was a bit too hard, even for me and I normally like hard beds. Location is fantastic in so many ways but, if you're in a room facing onto the street, you won't get any sleep because of noise made by people coming and going from the pubs/restaurants until very, very late. By the time these places have closed, the morning trams are already running right outside your window. Wi-Fi could be better. Noise. Noisy Street. Classic hostel = right on top of 'the action' & clever puzzle to reach reception. Entire city seems costly for value, but for the deluxe ufo - such view, service & flavor would cost $100s for dinner in sf. Room pretty basic. Shower leaking. Was worried about security as room door appeared to have been kicked in at some point. Noisy in morning due to trams, workers etc. No Wifi in the room. The fornitures in my room were old and certainly not beautiful. noisy all nights on Friday and weekends.
