I had a solo room for 4 nights and enjoyed a million dollar view of the onion domes of the Church on Spilled Blood. At 2 A.M. I could peek out the room-darkening curtains and find the domes softly lit against the pale twilight. I could walk to many tourist spots, especially the Church of the Savior on Blood is 2-3 mins on foot from the hotel.

  The hotel is maybe not what you expect from 4 stars in Western Europe but for the price and service, I think it is a good deal. We had an executive room (note that minibar is not free in executive and standard rooms - unlike stated below) which was large and spacious, and very clean. In addition, there is a closet for your clothes with plenty of hangers, an iron board and - The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. They provided directions to the Metro, post office and other places of interest. They arranged tours for us as well as booking reservations for us in local restaurants. The staff were just incredible and so friendly. The breakfast was included in the room and the breakfast was buffet style, with a very large and fresh choice of foods, and they would make eggs / omelettes if requested.   The room was nice, much better and bigger than hotel room. Kitchen was a plus and had everything we need to cook a meal. Location is great, supermarket is 100 meter from the suites and metro is only 150 meter away, make it convenient to commute to city center (4 stations) away. Luckily I checked out google maps ahead of time or else I may have had a problem finding the entrance though. The rooms were big and clean and I liked the "Russian" view.   I've been there the second time. This time I stayed on the ground floor not too far from reception. Nevertheless we had two seperate beds we could make them closely. The room was much better than it had been on the third floor before. I liked a girl from the hall bar, she was pretty, positive and attentive excepting another girl from reception.   We've spent about 8 weeks in St. Petersburg over the past 5 years as students, and our dorms were located in old Soviet apartment blocks; so this hotel was a welcomed change for our short visit back to Peter!! The hotel was very clean, which surprised me as most of St. Petersburg is on the dirtier side. I thought that aspect of the visit was excel... hva folk sier » lent. It also appeared that the rooms had been recently refurbished, with laminate wood flooring, an updated bathroom, and nice furnishings and wardro - A very correct hotel, with extremely large bar/ dining room complex and a pub open late. Excellent food in that pub (which is a rare thing to find in that town). Excellent coffee, and plenty of space to comfortably read a paper. Location is excellent - not right at the center with all its tourist traps but a little kickback at calm Vasilevsky Island. A very good place on the whole although on the expensive side.
