  Really nice modern hotel in Western part of the city. Everything is new, nice and clean. Definitely best choice for young people and group of friends. Perfect for quality/price. Staff was really welcome and helping every time. Cheap and nice, though not rich, breakfast. Don't be scare that location is not a city centre, the trip by train to the Ce... hva folk sier » ntral Station is only 5 minutes and ticket is not expensive. There is a bar in the hotel that provides different drinks/snacks and they accept credit - We stayed only one night before an onward journey. It was incredibly easy to find and right next door to the train Station which is only one stop from the city centre. It was very clean and we stayed in a room with two bunk beds and two twin beds which was very well thought out with the furniture and lighting and excellent for our 3 children. We had a great night's sleep, there was no noise whatsoever. The breakfast cost around 5 euro and was an eat all you can buffet style which was brilliant

  The historic associations of the Hotel and location. The room was a four star one and was excellent. We liked looking around the hotel and finding out more of its history. Some reviewers inaccurately reported the hotel as being a prison previously. Perhaps some of the lower starred rooms may have appeared cell like but ours certainly wasn't. - Styl... hva folk sier » ish and unusual refurbishment of this interesting building, with its lofty dining room and various surprising features, make this my favourite hotel in Amsterdam. The waterside location isn't central, but it's appealing - and it's fun cycling there! - Intelligence and kindness of the whole staff, its library, its restaurant and its affordable menus, the design and originality of each room, the facilities offered to go downtown, the view and proximity of the water. The reasonable price of the parking.
