Beautiful space, lovely and helpful people, fine location, quiet -- not
a given in Oaxaca. Gorgeous courtyards, amazing value for the money, and
also admirably eco-conscious. Delight outweighs comfort here. Relaxing
and informal.
The staff were lovely and helpful people who accommodated us at every
opportunity. They called taxis, tour guides; there was information

Fabulous place to stay with breakfast in a beautiful garden where you can talk to other guests. Very eco-friendly and serves fair trade coffee. Highly recommended!.

The mattress could have been a bit more comfortable. For a first time
visitor to Mexico, some things about the Mariposa are kind of confusing.
Its very informal, which is wonderful, but may be a bit challenging to
figure out if you don't speak any Spanish and arrive at night (the
day staff speaks excellent English).
Our arrival, delayed till midnite because of a plane malfunction, was a
bit difficult. We were given our room by the night watchman but there
was no water in the room and no information provided about how me might
get some. That room needed additional comfortable chairs . It had a
malfunctioning toilet and overall was very noisy. However as soon as we
told them we didn't like it, they moved us to a lovely new space
which we appreciated.
