Location at first is hard to find due to the naming of the blocks, but once found, it is very accessible as Le Meridian is nearby while Philippines Market is just opposite. With RM 60 per night (sea view as well!) for 2 pax, it is much better than many backpackers place as it has attached bathroom. Definitely value for money.

I stayed in two other guesthouses the two nights before for the same price or more. Iskander was by far better value. Everything seems very new and small extras such as a towel was included. It has its faults but for budget accom it is better then most others.
Great location, although the map didn't show correctly...we were wandering around for a little while trying to find it. Once we did, we found it was very close to the waterfront, so very handy for us :).

The location is convenient, right opposite the Filipino market. Lots of convenient shops and restaurants within walking distance. Next to the row of shops of Le Meridian hotel. Wifi is working at normal speed. Water dispenser is available and hot water upon request. Friendly and helpful staff who allowed us to leave our luggage after checkout.

Being a budget place, the facilities were, not surprisingly, lacking.
Wifi was good but for 2 night the network is down. Cleanness can be better but overall acceptable.
The exterior of the building is very ugly and the stairwell up to the guesthouse is very bad. Once inside it is fine. The location is not as indicated on the map but fronts the main road along the waterfront. The walls are thin and of timber (not brick as on some of their advertisements) so noise can be a problem. My air conditioner was not connected to an outside air source so just recycled stale air and had an unhealthy smell. But still it is better then the competition.
Smell coming from the drain in the bathroom wasn't great....but hey, you get what you pay for. We were only there for 1 night, and it was perfectly adequate. Don't think I'd like to stay for more that 2 or 3 nights in a place like this, but it was ok for a quick stop.

Extremely noisy as it is by the congested main road and opposite the Filipino market. Hard to get a parking and the double parking causing the drivers to hon at any time. Serious noise pollution included the sound of plane. Struggling to get a good night sleep except you're knackered.
The toilet is not clean and towel is very poor...stair also is bad smeel.
1) Non working Hot shower;
2) No satellite TV& TV set was lousy with no remote control;
3) No remote for air-con
4) No cabinet, only 4 hooks behind the door;
5) Accidentally left key in room...no spare key and have to wait until 12 noon to have key fix;
6)Limited family rooms, asked why room is not as mentioned , answer given - since my booking was late I am given the said room THE BETTER ROOM ALL BEEN TAKEN. PAYMENT SAME RATE. SHOULDN'T ALL FAMILY ROOMS IN A HOTEL OF THE SAME STANDARD?.
