  i liked everything in Tanabe Ryokan begining with Mrs. Akiko Tanabe, the owner. She is a very friendly japanese woman that runs the Hotel and that made me a lot a good recomendations.   Staying in Ryokan Murayama was a great experience as we wanted to stay in a more traditional accommodation in a rural setting. The train trip to Takayama was a highlight as it was so picturesque.
