  The hostel is full of information. You can find information about sounkyo easily. The location is not too far from bus stop but we arrive there at night time so it is a bit difficult to find. Luckily there is a taxi offer us a lift for free. The hostel is like typical Japanese style hostel: wooded made, shared bath room but I can't find basin for ... hva folk sier » washing face. The beds are clean and comfy. We stayed in 4-p dorm room. There are bikes and i think for free (I don't see rent cost) you can borrow hi - a small hostel which is located conveniently for access to the mountains. good food and access to a wonderful onsen in the hotel next door.

  The owner and staff were excellent in accommodating us, going above and beyond the call of duty to the point where she greeted us upon check out and drove us to our coach stop so we didn't have to drag our luggage through the heavy snow. Excellent hospitality, excellent value. Highly recommended!
