The room was nice and clean. Very spacious. It is a tatami room, Japanese style. Bedding was comfortable. The Japanese bath in the basement is good. The receptionist at check in was really helpful, giving me map of the area, explaining about sights. she also searched for the additional places I wanted to visit, printed out the information from the internet for me and explained in English. A traditionally tatami experience, strategic location near Dotonbori & Shinsaibashi. Very friendly staffs, doing their best to assist. We seek help to send our baggages to our hotel in Tokyo when we leave for Takayama Autumn festival, they even gave us rebate due to more than one baggage sent. Very sincere and helpful!.

He/She not even failed to tidy our room but also messed up our things. Our things were relocated every where. The air-conditioning unit was not working, although I complaint to the staff. They tried to fix it few times, but wasn't resolved throughout my stay. I have to put up with opening the window at night, but being situated near Kuromon Ichiba market and Dotonbori, the street noise was annoying and didn't get any good night sleep. Somewhat worn and showing age. Wifi (listed as available in lobby) required email sign-up and front desk to provide password, but front desk could not get it to work. No WiFI in room, only at the lobby. the smell of the food in the area of infront of the elevator , it may be caused by thre are the restaurant in that area. eating and shopping are the main activities her, great to visit but for short visit would go somewhere else in japan. No Wi-Fi in room. no wifi in the room. Nil. The room wasn't very well cleaned and dust was everywhere. I payed for breakfast for two people and the room they served it was very dirty as well, specially the walls. The room can smell food. The room not very clean some of the area covered with dust and the carpet is very dirty. The mini fridge door sometime can open some time can't. Actually, this is not a real Ryokan but a Hotel with tatami and futon in the rooms. It did not feel like a Ryokan at all. The bathtub was filthy, definitely not cleaned after the previous guest and when I looked up, I was a centimeter of mold in the ventilation above the bath... Facility housekeeping. room is rather small and congested. Toilet smelly. comfort.
