  Staff were exceptionally nice and helpful; they were able to give us directions when we called, hopelessly lost. They greeted us warmly when we arrived with hot cups of tea and helped us to find a local restaurant. The next day, they offered to keep our luggage while we went sightseeing. The traditional breakfast in the morning was also very good and well worth the value. - The location is excellent, just 5+ mins walk from the main Kyoto station. Price is reasonable for the service and facilities. Rooms are clean and fully equipped. Staff served tea to us every day when we came back to the ryokan. They have a free cultural night event every night run by volunteer staff. They are so friendly and it was really nice learning about their lives in Kyoto, as well as pick up some origami/calligraphy writing. Highly recommended!

  Excellent location in the centre of Kyoto, it is near various places of interest and additionally the hotel is above underground station which makes getting around Kyoto a breeze. Excellent rooms, excellent air conditioning and clean, modern bathrooms. Staff very friendly and courteous. Almost all staff speak excellent English. With three beds, the room still has a lot of space. And bathroom is large, too, which surprised us because we thought hotel rooms in Japan were very small. The staff here are very nice and warm. The location is great: it connects the subway station, and you can take a leisure walk at night by Yuka.
