It's a quiet hostel with nice atmosphere. Staff was friendly and
helpful, location is great, a few minutes walk from ferries (for
Yakushima and Sakurajima) and from Tenmonkan. Dorm was spacious and

Green Guesthouse is very very close to the port which was great! I also liked how they offered Kagoshima Shochu in the lobby. The common room was pretty spacious and there were a couple of computers with internet to use.
The staff were very welcoming and friendly. All rooms and facilities were clean and comfortable. Dorms were comfortable and spacious. Location good, v easy to find and close to the ferries and plenty of places to eat.
Amazing staff, very helpful and they can speak english really good. The
location is good and they have everything you need. If you don't
have much money and if you want to meet nice peole I recommand it !.

Clean, sociable place with decent facilities, free wi-fi, well equipped kitchen and roof terrace (you can see SAKURAJIMA directly from here!).
Friendly stuff. Good common spaces. Close to the fairy terminal and therefore good for a trip to the vulcano island.
Mixed dorm is awesome and actually quite private. Nice little cubby holes for sleepin'.

On a main road in the city; noisy. Dormitory was loud until midnight. No towel provided. No elevator. No specific space for personal belongings (no lockers). Small mirror. Thin curtains let in morning light.
POOR directions (incl. leaflet map) from the station made me walk around for 30 min before I could actually find the place.
Hostel sign isn't particularly visible as you approach it therefore more effort should be made to make it clearer not just on a map but in real terms guys. Can't remember last time I had to look for a place that hard... pretty frustrating esp. when you carry some heavy backpack in a hot weather.
