  We opened the shutters in our room to see a superb view of the famous sassi of Matera. The staff at reception went out of their way to help us check the details of the next leg of our journey and the friendliness we received left us with just a desire to return soon.   Very hospitable hosts, very good accommodation across the street from their restaurant, where excellent breakfasts were served. It was a good experience to stay in the centre of Matera.   This is a gem, staff delightful, rooms great, food excellent and reasonably priced. The hotel is not by the sea, but has an excellent pool. The area is fasinating, particularly when we were there in May. We stayed one night but would have liked to stay longer. - Staff very helpful and charming.

  Closeness to town, once we got there, being only 50 m or so from the main street. Really good to have a garage too, which was a key reason we selected the hotel - Good clean hotel, friendly staff. Very close to the old centre of town and shopping street.
