This is an excellent vacation option in Eilat, provided you have a car. The rooms are clean, the lawn and green areas well-maintained and very nice. The dinner of Friday was excellent. -
This was our favorite place to stay- so peaceful and pretty. Reminded us a little of Hawaii. Great breakfast!

We are world travelers, in our late 50's and decided to travel all
over Israel for our 20th anniversary. While we have stayed in many high
luxury places, this was not the goal in the Negev. We wanted to feel
connected to the glory and sanctity of the land and the desert and also
wanted privacy to do so. Carmey Avdat was a complete jewel in the Negev
and we were so grateful to the other posted reviews which encouraged us

After coming from Petra, we were welcomed by a very responsible host who ran us through some important things to notice. Other hostels don't seem to be as informative or clear about the dos and don'ts in the hostel.
We booked the basement suite, which was beyond our expectations. The suite was well furnished, and the designed was very elegant.

The interior design - zen influence with use of bamboo - was very relaxing in its simplicity.
The location was excellent. It was close to the beach, mall and groceries.It was also in a quiet and well-kept neighbourhood.
Luvay, the staff, welcomed us with glasses of cold water when we arrived. She also told us where the groceries were and how to get to the beach. She arranged taxi pick up for us too.

Stayed in the cabines for the second time. This is beautiful, secluded
and romantic place near the Dead sea. Very friendly owners, fresh
vegetables and fruits, bikes for rent, bbq. A green oasis in the middle
of the Judea desert. And a pride of charming cats as the hallmark of the

Desert view is ideally located to visit the various touristic places in and around the Negev ( dead sea, eing gedi oasis, masada, makhtesh ramon,...etc).
Even if we didn't have time to taste it, Avi can prepare a real israeli breakfast for you.

Gil was welcoming, and even though we had booked a family room, he provided 2 separate rooms for us. We arrived late Friday afternoon, and informed us of the opportunity to eat Shabbat dinner at a hotel close by. We paid Gil and he gave us a voucher for our meal. Our experience in Arad was severely impacted by the manger of these Hotel. His name is MOSES. He was extremely kindly and with only 15 minutes of conversation we had a very nice time. Wish I could stay on more day only to talk more with this guy. He gave us nice tips.

The proprietors were wonderful. They were very helpful and friendly. It was a lovely place to stay. Our room was beautiful and clean, with a shower room and kitchen en suite. There was a lovely private terrace area outside with table and chairs. The house is on the edge of the town, with a view of the footpath over the hills to Massada. It is close to a view point where we watched the sunrise over the foot of the Dead Sea and surrounding desert. Great view.

Hosts were fantastic! So nice and accomodative! Close enough to all the Dead Sea/Masada sights we wished to see, with kitchen facilities, far less expensive than spa hotels. Loved meeting the host family, intimate experience with Israeli family would not otherwise have had.
