Donegal Manor is an excellent place to stay. Every one of the staff and the owners were courteous and friendly. The large open fire, ready supply of freshly baked cakes and bread and the round the clock tea and coffee facilities in the welcoming and comfortable reception area were fantastic, and included in the booking price. You don't get this sort of thing in even the top hotels. Our room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Close enough to .
alle vurderinger » This was my second visit to the Donegal manor , the standard of the rooms and the breakfast is that of a 5star hotel ,high standards through out the owners are very friendly and welcome you nothing is to much trouble . very short taxi ride to Donegal town at a small cost of between 6 and 7 euros which the owners can arrange for you will most defently be back amazing value for money would highly recommend. My sister and I stayed in this hotel while attending a wedding. The staff were very friendly and made us feel so welcome. They had a fantastic knowledge of the local area. It is a family run hotel and the owners couldn't do enough to help, they were fantastic. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to book my stay there again. Donegal is a beautiful place to visit. Michael greeted us warmly on a very blustery night and made us feel right at home with lively fire in the lobby fireplace, and also provided us with dinner information, a spacious room, and even a heater when it became clear that the weather would remain really frigid that night (the worst winter storm in years). We loved every minute and the breakfast was perfect. Really nice place. The room was lovely and the breakfast great. As a vegetarian, it was great to be able to per-order a veggie omelette. Unfortunately it was quite rainy so didn't get to enjoy the outdoors as much, but such is luck sometimes. The staff suggested a couple of restaurants and we had dinner in one - La Bella Dona - and it was perfect. We loved the warmth of the staff of the Manor! They were so hospitable and made you feel welcome. The breakfast was excellent and custom ordered - very nice. The location was a few minutes outside the city center but you were there with a $7 cab ride. We had a wonderful two night stay and heavily recommend this location. The quirky, boutique, fashionable feel and decor. The breakfast- especially the fruits and cereals available. The beds- which are wonderfully comfortable. And the friendly staff who helped enormously with recommendations and returning left behind items! It was a really lovely stay- sadly not for long enough!. Excellent stay - staff were very friendly and helpful. My room was on the 2nd floor and a member of staff carried my bag up. The room was large, well decorated and very clean. The bathroom was modern and well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Breakfast the next day was very good. By far the best breakfast we had in Ireland! Wonderful breads and freshly prepared omelettes. Immaculate spacious room with superb bedding and comfortable mattress. Reel Inn pub which staff recommended had great traditional live music performed by the owner on the squeezebox and others. Staff were exceptional; very spacious double room with two double beds; lounge area with log fire; coffee, tea and home-made cake available 24/7 in lounge as well as tea-making facilities in rooms; just outside of town so weren't disturbed by party animals or usual bar/delivery noises. This is a very well run, friendly and spotlessly clean B&B. Have visited this area of Donegal many times and never had such good all round experience. Will definitely return. The rooms were so relaxing and the beds were so comfortable, and the homemade lemon drizzle cake at breakfast was to die for!!!. Sian, Michael & Marie welcomed us made us feel very special with their considerate hospitality. The room was very large and the bed extremely comfortable. The whole place was exceptionally clean and the food an absolute delight. What I liked was the warm welcome - tea & caraway seed cake, a real turf fire and all of this despite our late arrival at 11:30p.M. And not too keen on the meal we had at the recommended dinner place of Dom'S. The olde castle restaurant looked to be a better bet. Be aware that the road trip to Slieve League cliffs is one hour away and the last half is narrow and windy road. Would have loved to enjoy an evening meal, especially as the breakfasts were delicious but these weren't available at the end of the season. The only minor issue was the waitress on Sat night ignored us for 15min when we sat down in the restaurant, even though we had organised dinner for a set time. When that was resolved the rest of the evening went well. There wasnt anything i would criticise. An excellent place to stay. The hotel was very poorly signposted from the road. A roadsign type of placard is needed 300 yds from the hotel in both directions. The entry road needs resurfaced. But hey, who really cares!!. We only had time to spend one night!. That I had only booked to stay for one night and had to leave the next day. Couldn't really walk from the location to town due to being on a main road. We enjoyed all aspects of this home away from home. Road noise was audible when window was opened for fresh air. Restaurant was closed on Sunday night - compensated for by an excellent reference to a nearby pub. It was all good. Had to drop off our laundry ourselves. Was a bit of a way out of town & so couldn't walk into town for a meal etc. hard to find the manor, a signpost on main road would be helpful. There was nothing to dislike. Breakfast totally over-cooked on one morning. Was not aware that dinner was not available. But staff directed us to very good restaurant in Donegal. It was all good. Milk was out of date in the room. nothing. Old televisions with not many channels, no radio stations available. Signage to the manor could be better. No lift. Location out of town (must drive to restaurants). A bit out of town, too far to walk to Donegal Town.
