In a nutshell, absolutely everything. My girlfriend and I were in the final week of a long holiday and, after a touch of backpacking across Thailand, needed a place to wind down. We could not have found a more perfect place. Although the Sungu doesn't have a 5* rating, we had stayed (earlier in our travels) at 5* hotels in Dubai and Bangkok, and we were left happy that the Sungu did not fall short. The attitude of the staff was exceptional; they were all so happy to fulfill anything we asked of.
alle vurderinger » Wonderful stay here at the Sungu. Lanai was delightful, loved the outside bathroom and looking up at the stars whilst taking a shower at night. Loved swimming in our Lanai pool looking at the stars at night. Loved the breakfast/Dining room and the staff were lovely. We had a 15year old and a 6 year old with us and all they can both talk about was how much they loved staying at the Sungu. Would recommend this place in Ubud to anyone. This hotel is out of the mainstream town of Ubud but only a 20 minute walk. Free shuttle will take you into town and pick you up at any time. Staff are friendly, rooms are nice with splendid outside bathroom to shower under the stars. Offered an upgrade to a duplex on arrival however didn't take it. A bit pricey compared to some of the more luxurious hotels in Nusa Dua but enjoyed my stay. The staff were genuinely warm and friendly. We enjoyed the company of the other guests who were also friendly. The massage, afternoon tea, rice paddy walk, free shuttle and trip to the Museum and Art Gallery were all very much appreciated. It was away from the noisy town in a peaceful environment with rice paddies just out the back. We had a wonderful week thank you. The atmosphere was beautiful and very tranquil. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, being just out of Ubud central and therefore quiet. The Resort will transport you to and from Ubud through out the day so the location is not an issue. We loved it and wished we had booked another night. The hotel is not located and the centre but they provide very flexible shuttle until 22:00. The rooms are superb and the outside shower is super nice. Additional services for free are offered: Balinese cakes, rice paddies walk and art museum visit. we spent 4 night at Sungu Resort in one of the villas having a private pool. Breakfast excellent, staff extremely friendly, rooms were very very nice and comfortable. A great experience indeed despite an unfortunate event. Excellent service, beautifull big rooms, great decoration and overall feeling. Excellent shuttle service to the center of Ubud. It is within walking distance of 10 to 15 min to Ubud Palace. I loved everything about the resort. The staff was just great and very helpful on anything. The location was great. Very quiet and just 15mts walk to the ubud market area. Nothing. A little more lighting in the room for reading. We would have liked better lighting in the villa. It was a bit dim. The traffic in the morning can be heard from the room. The staff was very good and friendly except for the chief of reception. He is without any doubt an awful professional, poor English level (even the breakfast staff spoke it better) and arrogant attitude. because of an amazing storm, there was water flooding on the ground floor of our room one night. The staff was very helpful and cleaned everything in less than one hour around 10pm. It could have been a terrible experience but the staff handled it with great attention. Not related to the hotel, just a hint, do bring mosquito repellent with you. WIFI only in the lobby and restaurant. I did feel like we paid a bit much for the room for what we got & you pay extra for a lot of small things that are not included. - the prices of the activities menu is not consistent, you can contract a lot on excursions prices - is not a real spa, they only have one person dedicated to the spa and few massage options.
