This was the most extraordinary place I've ever been to! Exactly what you expect from a stay in Indonesia, and Gili Trawagan really is a paradise island! In the middle of palm trees, this a very quiet place (no noise at night, no cock, far from the mosquée and the bars) near to all the Gili activities: at 5 min in bicycle of the animated center of Gili Trawangan and close to the beach. Place is a little bit far from the main street of gili trawagan but you can rent bikes for cheap price. as is it far from the crowdy and noisy center of GT, is the perfect place to rest!. The whole place is like a little gem. We absolutely loved our stay, initially planned to stay 2 night but cancelled our flight and extended 2 more nights! The staff was so helpful with getting us bikes and always had a smile on. We really felt at home and very safe even tough it's secluded which is a big plus. It is a 15 min bike ride to the main road and there are 2 or 3 different ways to bike there but they all are bumpy and dark. We didn't mind but if you're scared of the dark rethink your choice of hotel. We will definitely be back though!. This place is run by a French lady who knows the island well. The staff are super friendly and always happy to help. The location is away from the main strip on the island which makes it secluded and quiet. You can hear the sea at the quiet of night. The kitchen serves up some nice food and you can enjoy it while relaxing on a bean bag. You cant help but feel relaxed in this chilled out environment. Beautifully designed with a lot of attention to detail. Everything was very clean. The food was very good, I ate at the hotel a lot. Easy to connect with others staying at the hotel. Staff was extremely nice and attentive and would always stop for a chat and always know you by name. Everything. It is new and clean, staff are mostly friendly. The staff was excellent and the food at the restaurant very tasty. Though it was absolutely amazing, two things to be improved: 1) Paying with credit was still not possible, but the owner said he was taking care of that; 2) No hot water in the shower... it was not a problem to me because the weather was, well... tropical! The water was not actually ice cold, just wasn't heated. Some people might find it a problem (not me though :P). No comment, it was a very plaisant stay. to stay longer... One thing that could be improved is the bathroom roof, because when it rains, it leaks. It's a bit far from the main restaurant and party street but if you don't mind a bike adventure at night it's ok. Just don't forget the headlights! Also the beach is a 2 minut walk but the really nice beach were you actually can take a swim is about 5 minut future north on the wet side. Having to leave :). The ac is not really strong enough to keep the tent cool so it gets hot in the mornings. The location is close to the beach which is nice but its on the quiet side of the island so you have to cycle or take a horse carriage to the promenade with restaurants and nightlife. The beach is nice but there is a reef right there so definitely wear shoes to swim. since there was kind of an "waste incinerating plant" nearby there was some bad smell from time to time (depending on wind) and parts of the area are polluted with plastic bags. Limited WIFI range. Little bit of distance from sandy swimming beach(bay area). Nothing. it`s not at the beach. Nothing. Aircon is very hot on day time, the tents are too close to each other and the noise level of other guests is very audible. Transport to and from the hotel is very costly and not walkable distance to necessities. The tents are very hot and with no pool and no sea breeze, there is little reprieve from the intense heat. The accom advertises bike rental and free toiletries - neither of these were provided. The location is more than the advertised 100m from the beach and a 15 minute bike ride from a decent swimming beach and the action.
