  Having read the review from "Anonymous" of New Zealand (too late, the day before our stay) it was with some trepidation that I saw on our arrival that the reception attendant was taking us _down_stairs to the dreaded Basement Room of Doom. I was relieved to find that actually I rather liked the room, and we had a great time there. Having said that, the major gripes tha - That was our second time at this hotel, and again everything went well: service was friendly, facilities were in a good shape and the breakfast table was plentiful enough. In addition, this hotel is well located in the city center.

  Really nice appartment in Zollverein, a suburb of Essen. We only used it as a place to crash between to days on the road. - Very easy place to stay. Parking was over the road in free car park and tram was 30 seconds from apartment. - Just opposite to the ruhr museum and in the city centre this is the best hotel I got during my Europe tour.

  I booked for three night but finally I only stay two night, the reason is the hotel room is no good so I change my plan, the next building was under construction, they start at 7 am in the morning and very noise, I cannot sleep at all. Anyway, I inform them one day in advance but they still charge me three night. Please comment.
