Ellen and Dirk are wonderful hosts who make your stay memorable. We had a room that included a sitting room, large bedroom and a very large bath. We overlooked one of the towns towers and the Rhine River. We also ate at the Bacharacher Hof restaurant twice and the food far exceeded our expectations. The room was spacious and well appointed. The staff was fantastic and the breakfast was amazing. The location was very convenient to the train station and was situated in a convenient location for shopping and sightseeing in the charming Rhine town. There are many wonderful sights in easy walking distance and it was also very close to the K-D ferry terminal where we embarked on a Rhine cruise. An amazing historic location all in all.

The appearance is of a charming, old world, typically German early building with exposed wood. Inside the bar/reception and views into the dining area are of apparent ancient dark wood. Perfect location, in centre of Bacharach em Rhein. We really liked the
hotel. The room is very big, it actually has another room as a bedroom
and some like a living space (with bed too) and tv. Everything is very
clean and comfortable. Bathroom is big and clean, there are all
facilities needed. Elevator (needed for our room at 3rd floor) is good
and in working order. Breakfast is very good, large choise of food and
members of stuff are very kind and gentle. Hotel has its own parking,

We are a family of 4 - 2 boys ages 13 and 7 and stayed there in July
2013. This hotel is in town on the Main Street near shops and
restaurants and away from the train noise. Bacharach is small so walking
the town in an hour is realistic. You won't find a fancy hotel here.

We didn't see much of the host but check in and check out were straight forward.
The rooms were comfortable and we were provided with 2 cots as requested.
The breakfast was minimal but fine.
Bacharach is absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed looking at the shops and also the carousel for drinks and snacks.
We had dinner at a pub and found that it is more known for its beer than its food but still ok meals.
Great location to explore this beautiful village and close to the river so you can arrive by

I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Im Schulhaus. Even though it was more expensive than my other nights on the track in Kaub and Sankt Goarshausen, it was much more well-appointed as well.
I had a room with a patio and lounge chairs, which was perfect after a long day of hiking on the Rheinsteig. My bed was comfortable and I was able to spread out

The building itself - excellent contemporary design
The room - as well as the afore-mentioned excellent design, an excellent power shower, large flatscreen, efficient air-con and complimentary water and Milky Way bars!
Staff - friendly receptionists who offered great service. When I asked about taxis to the local railway station they arranged for the hotel's facilities manager to take me in his SUV!
The breakfast - excellent selection of teas, coffees, juices, bread/rolls, pastries, cold meats
