The staff was very friendly but some appeared a bit reserved.
The location is great, it took about 20min to walk to the central station/city (the neighborhood is also very good).
If you prefer the metro the nearest station is just down the street.

We loved its proximity to the main train station (it can be reached in around 10 min walk). However, the area in which it is located is under construction so reaching the hotel carrying luggage was quite a pain (took us 25 min). In our room we found some brochures at the back of which there were some discount coupons for Madame Tussauds and Sealife. We were happy to use them and get 2 tickets for the price of 1. The location of the hotel, which is right beside Check Point Charley, and represents a perfect starting point for an historical and cultural sightseeing! Moreover, the confort of the room: my wife and I had read several negative reports about a supposed "glass wall" in the room, between the toilette and the bedroom, but that turned out in-existent. Maybe the problem had been satisfactorily solved!

The hotel is located in the very center of the city, however the nearby streets are calm, so at night you can enjoy your rest. It takes just 2 min to reach the S-Bahn station, also you can find here a lot of restaurants and caffee. Every day I took my sandwich on my way to the conference without any time delay.
Especially I enjoyed the hotel sitting-room with wonderful fireplace and library - it was awesome!
I strongly recommend to stay in Monbijou hotel :)
