My wife and I had some concerns when we were taken to a hotel where the office is in a bar in a poorer area of Paris. Those concerns ended when we met Sophia who was friendly and affable in every way. The modest breakfast was fairly priced and excellent. Do not forget this is a tourist class hotel. The room was freshly painted with new fixtures including a bidet and immaculate bedding, room and a new mattress.

For a budget weekend away it's just perfect. The Brassiere is the reception, where the whole family hang out. No thrills here but for budget accomodation it's fine. I really enjoyed the location next to Gare du Nord. We took the rer and Metro which was great for airport trip/expenses. I was pleased with the bathroom, nice size and everything worked well. The beds were comfortable and the room was kept very tidy. Staff very friendly--the grandmother, mom, and children are all at reception and really made it seem like home. The room is what Paris should be, with a balcony overlooking the street. While the room was "older," the bath was up to date. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, a nice family! The room was clean with comfortable beds. It is steps from Gard du Nord, very convenient!. Friendly staff, location is perfect to move around..free WIFI in your room to update your Facebook with nice pics of you in Paris :) ha ha. location is great, and staffs can speak English and helpful. The room next to road is noisy but understandable. It is very near to the Gare du Nord Train station and just steps away from the Metro. Not fancy but real good value for money. But you need to go beyond that to enjoy a truly unique experience. This is a great student hotel for one looking for a taste of the Bohemian Parisian life. It's a short walk to the train station. Nothing for me. There's no lift so retired travellers might struggle a bit. I didn't particularly care for the hotel's entrance. The main doors aren't always open and they had a 1 am curfew. Needing to get back by 1 am and carrying the luggage up stairs, but that's an older building and what you expect. Nothing. If you bring many heavy luggages will be troublesome to carry them upstairs... No elevator, have to lift bags upstair. Rooms were a bit small, with narrow stairs and no lift. nothing I didnt like. If you're looking for anything more than a comfortable bed and deep bath, centrally located, be my guest .... pay more money, find an english- speaking concierge, and give this 'old-fashioned' hotel a 'pass'. no elevator, hotel is locked between 1am and 7am with no chance to get out, no exceptions. The is no elevator and some rooms are extremely small. Entrance by the bar is not the most common situation. It is not usual to ask for paying before even see the room. Quite standard room equipment but it is normal for Paris budget rooms. Paris is just expensive, so getting a cheap night next to transportation is near impossible. Hotel is actually rooms above a tavern/bar. Wish bar was busier and I would have used it more. No lift. Door locked at 1 AM so must be back before then. (Someone waits in restaurant to let you in after restaurant closes.). No elevator. Very small room. - Location no so good - No so clean. The room door was difficult to lock and unlock with the key and also difficult to unlock from the inside. A new lock is needed. Cleanliness of Bathroom. Quality of WiFi. Hot water was sparse. Pillow was a single long one tucked under the sheets - -not very comfortable. Bit tired and rundown but good value. Poor lightning, small room and no lift. There is no lobby at all,instead,the ground floor is used for evetything.Different people,travellers,come and go,use the toilet,sleep,eat,change clothes...All that in one stinky room.Like a public toilet and a public changing room. There is no suitable reception at the lobby. The room is not so clean.
