The staff Paulo, and Maria were excellent, Paulo had good English, which was great. They were very helpful with all our requests. The Domes are interesting, clean and comfortable. Lovely hot showers. Location very good and only a short walk to restaurants and shopping. The design of the cottages was very innovative. They are situated in very quiet surroundings. Staff was nice and helpful. Also try La Ruca, owned by the same family!.
alle vurderinger » The quiet (june), the originality of the dome room nicely decorated. No heat but warm and pretty blanquets. Kind and shy staff. Clean. Overall a lovely place to stay!. Great eco-accomodation, very helpful staff. Clean and comfortable. 10 min walk from town, very quiet. drinks and home made snacks always provided, very sweet. Excellent staff. The staff was quite helpful trying to assist us in finding another accommodation for the next night as we get stuck in San Pedro due to heavy rain (yes you are reading it right :-) We found out that Domos Los Abuelos is fair value for money in comparison with other options. Next day we slept in a hostel room w/o anything for only 15 USD less. Overall we were quite satisfied. Decent breakfast interesting architecture, but very bad finishing of these igloo style rooms. Unique architecture Reasonably clean Comfortable beds Appropriate for camping/leisure travel. We loved every thing, except the wifi was only available in reception and dining area. Our shower wasn't very reliable when it came to having hot water. Breakfast started quite late, at 8.30. Most excursions start earlier than that. We had to pay by cash and since there is only 1 foreign friendly ATM in San Pedro, this is not ideal. Walking around with a large sum of money neither. Keep in mind that it can be a long walk from town in the burning sun, especially with luggage. Nothing important, excepted the cold in the shower room soon in the morning, but the water turned on hot quickly, so nothing really wrong. Nothing. No hot water one day, next day no water at all. Windows with no insects screens, so room full of mosquitos and flies at night. the facilities within the room are simple. Swimming had like 20 cm of green water with some homegrown fauna inside. Rooms are small which s not sufficiently presented at booking. They look larger at the photos. A little out of centre but if you are not afraid of going five minutes in rather dark conditions, its all right. Los Abuelos is a camping place (as stated on the invoice). They have created a few igloo style bungalows. On the last day, we had 9 big campervans who parked just in front of our rooms (and created power shortages). Los Abuelos does anything to make money: the (nice) pool is packed with local inhabitants who can come and spend the day if they pay an entrance fee. A nice camping place but nothing to do with a hotel. The booking description is very misleading. Incorrect map location shown Intermittent electricity No window screens Dismal breakfast No place to unpack clothes Inappropriate for business travel. Disappointing: not what it pretends to be. Over priced for what it offers. Pool did not look at all clean. Grounds and dinning room unfinished and messy.
