Location of Burke House. Theatres. Shaw Festival plays Wineries and Tasting Tours Variety of restaurants from fine dining to family fare Scenic drives and lovely views along the river.Great bicycling in this area too. The owners, Barbara and Charlie, and their staff welcome you warmly and are very helpful with suggestions as to where to go, what to see, where to dine etc. One feels immediately 'at home'.The breakfasts prepared and cooked by Nicky were simply delicious. The town with its wonde.
alle vurderinger » I loved the openness of the room facing the backyard and the skylights and shutters. Access to Mr. Hughes Suite next to the parking lot was ideal. The main bedroom was well laid out and well lit. The house was convenient to the town for shopping and the festival plays. I enjoyed the use of the seating area, the landscaping of the back yard. It is pet friendly for one small dog, and I really appreciate this. I hope to return again next year with my Lhasa. The room was amazing top of the line mattress and bedding. Very quiet and relaxing, chatting with fellow travellers is a great way to spend breakfast. Have also stayed at the sister house, Post House Inn recently and had the same experience. Each of the staff was very welcoming and made our stay very pleasant. The location was excellent for the nearby shops, restaurants and a beautiful view of Lake Ontario at the mouth of the Niagara river. The morning breakfast was 4 stars. The accomodations were very comfortable and beautiful. The owner was very gracious and friendly. The breakfast was delicious and elegant. The location was excellent for theater, shopping, restaurants and biking. We loved it all!. Vintage decor keeping with the design of the period, beautiful antiques. Wonderful breakfast. I love the historic backdrop of the place was maintained. We had the whole house to ourself, and it was very relaxing. A home-away from home!. we actually got an upgrade to the Post House Inn, but we saw the Burke House and it was lovely. Christine's eggs benedict were fabulous!. Consider upgrading the toiletries to include a hand lotion, cotton swabs,(make up removal) q- tips etc.Add a hair conditioner and consider a better quality of soap. I would have preferred a regular sofa and two side chairs instead of the wicker furniture. It was a wonderful visit. It would be great for us caffiene lovers to have coffe available early in the morning. I would have enjoyed having the owner on site more to act as our host. Nothing really. Having to wait for breakfast until everyone was present: it delayed the start to the day. The full breakfast was not too enjoyable. The fresh fruit was amazing, however the full breakfast was not tasty, nor were the potatoes warm. The breakfast was disappointing. The air conditioning was not satisfactory at night. There was nothing that I did not like. The breakfast was a bit lacking in imagination but plentiful. As well, as a consumer who uses Visa Debit and email payments, it was a bit off-putting that such payments weren't accepted. There was no one to greet us when we arrived, but we realize that is an economical way to run a B&B. Our reservation had requested twin beds. Although this showed on my reservation form it did not get passed on to the Burke House Inn. Your communication between letsbookhotel.com and hotels needs to improve. Nothing. No sound proofing. We could have used more coat hangers - picky, picky, picky!. only one chair in room. Was my fault, didn't ask if it had a bathtub, shower was very good, I just prefer baths. Can't really open windows wide, remember to ask for a fan if you like "moving" air. Rather pricey, and did not like that there were skylights in the one sleeping/sitting room... we were up at 6am! (But pics did show this- our fault.) Would still stay here again. There was no free wifi as advertised. Our room was decently clean, but the was hair in the bathroom and on the duvet. Late breakfast. no hairdryer. I liked everything. breakfast. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast. I guess I was hoping for eggs and toast rather than a quiche. bathtub was dirty staff could have been more welcoming. Needs an update. No doors on bedroom.one bath with access through main bedroom.advertised as 2 bedroom suite ,but 2nd is 2 twins in the sitting area. Bkfst was disappointing. uncomfortable bed and pillows. Hair in sink on arrival. No one to greet us ever other than breakfast. Mediocre breakfast. Noisy hallway at night. Pricey.
