We needed to book some bus tickets upfront (as a foreigner it wasn't possible to do it online) and the hotel staff bought the tickets for us without even having seen us before! Niemyer - spelling! - is capable of some awful building but this is not

Very nice rooms, views over the hills, 1 km away from the centre of Ouro Preto but with a van on call to take you there and pick you up (useful as there's lots of walking to do in the city itself, and much of it is hilly and cobbled-stones), a lovely place to relax in the social areas, with tea and cakes served in the late afternoon.

The personnel were very friendly and helpful.
