This is a classy joint in the 'cultural' area, don't be

Supercool hostel with really nice staff. We were two people staying
there for 9 nights. We met awesome people and had a really great time.
May be the best location you could get during the carnival! Easy to get
to Copacabana and Ipanema Beach. The design there is also really cool!
We really liked that it has pool table, bar, kitchen, barbeque area and
always free toilets and showers. We´re def. Going back!

We booked our room without balcony, but we ended with the room wiht balcony looking at the Sugar Loaf mountain. What a nice surprise! Our room was really clean, spacious and cozy with our own fridge.
Breakfast is basic with the choice of savoury or sweet, but is served on the roof terrace and that was very nice.

This apartment is amazing inside, very spacious, very well set up, everything you could possibly need. The owners are very flexible and helpful people, it is only 50m off the main street where the lapa arches are. The street sometimes has poor people in it - but they give NO trouble at all.

Nelson, who owns the apartment was extremely friendly and met us in person. He provided is with maps, recommendations of where to eat and go out and tourists guides.
During our stay he emailed us with further recommendations including directions and suggested prices. He also organised a taxi for us to get back to the airport.
Apartment was very clean and well equipped with free fast wifi. Secure entry and a watchmen let you into the building. 10 minute walk from metro station.
