  Good base to explore New York. Very comfortable hotel, room was spotlessly clean with plenty of toiletries & beautiful towels. Room comfort excellent. We couldn't check in til 4pm but not a problem as we left our luggage there so we were able to start our tour of New York. After hours having to use your room key to get past the door security officer then also to make the lift work makes you feel safe. The staff is always happy and friendly and willing to go the extra mile to make your stay memorable for the right reasons. The breakfast was awesome too.

  I travel to NYC about 10 times a year. I have hotels at which I customarily stay, but this trip came up suddenly and everything was sold out or exorbitantly expensive. I found the Pearl based on two criteria -- it was not as expensive as some of the other hotels and it was highly ranked by both travelers and star ratings.   My partner and I spent 3 nights at The Manhattan and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable with decent bathroom facilities. The hotel also provided free WiFi in the lobby. The location could not have been any better - very close to Times Square, Central Park, various restaurants... wat mensen zeggen » and the subway. We wouldn't hesitate to book with The Manhattan again and we would highly recommend the hotel to our family and friends! - I was very impressed with the hotel. It was better than I though being in nyc . I would recommend everyone to stay there. Shopping was rt at the door . Eating also entertainment was rt there. I could not have chosen a better place to stay. The kids enjoyed themselves ,first time in nyc. My brother was with me and he only stay at the Hilton when he travel, but he stayed with me and rated this hotel as very good and that says a lot coming from him.

  Room was spacious, well equipped and very clean. Unusual to see hard surface floors in the room, but made me feel better about cleanliness, potential bug issues. We arrived around midnight after an international flight. Ricky at the front desk was so welcoming and sweet. Our room, #612 was extremely quiet and restful. Lovely modern room with a huge really comfortable bed (more comfortable than the bed on the cruise ship that we joined a few days later).   Everything! We especially loved the bunk room set up! We traveled with two parents and two adult boys 18 & 20. We all wanted to stay in the same room but a typical 2 double bed set up in most hotels would not have worked and having two rooms in a typical hotel would have meant us being apart and would have extremely expensive. We all had our own comfy full size bed with great linens plus our own little flat screen tvs - Stayed there for my birthday and was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! The level of customer service was top notch! Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is swanky and done right from the artwork in the lobby to the, spa, to the rooms, to the restaurant and nightclub. It truly is a one stop shop experience. Also, the level of security is very important in a place like NYC, and the Waldorf takes extra measures to ensure everyone feels a high level of security.   At the desk, Dennis verified my information quickly and was quite friendly (I've been to enough hotels in NYC to recognize when I'm not a "room number" [based on the amount I have paid for a room] vs a "real person" [treated as if it didn't matter which room I paid for. Ask for Dennis at the Tuscany OR Jen - Stayed here for a couple of days before dropping my daughter to summer camp. The staff here are so welcoming and bend oer backwards to please. We were upgraded upon arrival. The rooms and bathrooms in this hotel are huge compared to most rooms in Manhattan and the decor is funky yet comfortable. The location is fabulous. 3 minutes to Grand Central Station and about 10 minutes to Macys. I love this hotel so much that I'm going back in 3 weeks to stay for a week!!!
