  I like the style, frankly the ' class ' that The Carlyle and that the staff exude. I stayed many times at The Carlyle in the 1980's early 90s, indeed had my wedding there in 1998. I haven't been at all since for no negative reason but simply professionally I no longer visit NY, but expect to privately will do periodically going fwd.   Our favorite aspect of the room was the bathroom with both a deep soaking tub and a lovely shower with hand held spray. This latter feature is often omitted in even many nicer hotels. Of course the marble and the overall design created a cheerful and homey environment. The bed was excellent and the mattress was friendly to our hypersensitive backs... wat mensen zeggen » . The sound system was nice. Our room faced the back and so was extemely quiet for nyc. Of course, the staff was as pleasant as could be. - The staff were ALL extremely helpful and friendly. The room was large and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was very large and extremely nice. The shower was amazing and had great water pressure. The bed was deliciously comfortable. Even though our room overlooked Madison Avenue, it was very quiet. In short, it was wonderful!!

The manager (Chris O'Sullivan) went above and beyond to make sure my mother and her friend had a fantastic time - as I (daughter) was unable to go last minute.   Small quiet hotel, so no queues to check in or out. Great location, close to Central Park, Rockefeller Centre etc,also close to metro line.Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfy beds. No facilities, other than the attractive roof terrace, but no problem as excellent diner across road and close to P J Clarkes. Grea - Right at Lexington and 55th, which is a perfect location. Clean rooms, safe, good airco. Comfortable bed, yet a bit small for two persons. Staff is friendly and helpful. I can recommend this place if you need a place to sleep. No more , no less. There's no hanging out in the lobby and meet up with some people, because there is no lobby/bar. The entrance has a counter and the elevator up.
