  I booked this hotel for a quick two day trip to see San Francisco with our kids based on the good price compared to nearby hotels, not really expecting much in the way of facilities. My wife even encouraged me to reconsider after out of fear it would not be clean or safe. I'm happy to say we were very surprised and happy with this property. Thank you for the pleas - Good budget-friendly hotel. We stayed for 2 days & walked or bussed the whole time. Very central location to everything. We walked from the hotel to Pier 39/Fisherman's Warf, Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square, then would take the bus back. We did this with a 5 year old & a 2 year old. The rooms were clean & tidy with plenty of space. I would definitely stay here again.

  This place is a 90 year old hotel and it wears it well. It's elevator is a clicketly-clack apparatus with a scissor gate-that you have to hold the floor number for a couple of seconds to roll- did I feel safe using it? Yes. Did I think it added to the ambiance? Absolutely. The hotel obviously has had infrastructure,safety and comfort improvements... wat mensen zeggen » installed- which goes a long way telegraphing, to me at least, the integrity of the management and their attitude towards pleasing their clientele. I - The Abigail hotel was comparatively inexpensive, basic accommodation but quirky and my room was clean and provided a comfortable bed, clean linen and towels, a bay window overlooking the Museum of Asian Art and a compact bathroom. Loved the lift!

  I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in mid November. I have seen people raise there eyebrows when they learn this hotel is situated in Tenderloin area (which is considered a bit shady area). I too was reluctant to stay there but post my stay I experienced that it was not that badly located. Means this hotel on eddy street which is very near to Van... wat mensen zeggen » Ness road (Just a block away). So when we walk out the hotel just go toward van ness street, immediately you are out of tenderloin. The bus stop is j - Staff is very friendly, location of the hotel is very good, just 15 minute- walk to market street, also if you have car, car park is very good and also there is a door between the car park and the rooms for the security(it's openned by the reception). The area is not secure especially at night but there are two routes which you can reach at the hotel, one is more secure.(the lady in the reception has explained us more secure road). We actually rent bikes and from the hotel we could go to the golden gate, the road was stunning. We also could reach downtown through the embarcadero st which is also very nice.   We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights during our journey around the West Coast and had a pleasant stay at this hotel. We stayed on the second floor which had a small dining area and outside patio which we used alot. The room was a bit on the small side but had everything we needed and was clean. Location is great. If you're able I would recommend trying to walk up and down this at leas - As a mom traveling with 2 teenagers, I thought this was a great place. It's an older hotel that could use updating, but it's clean, staff is friendly and it has free parking. It's perfect if you do not plan on spending a lot of time in your room. We left every morning by 9am and came back around 7pm, so it was perfect for the amount of time we spent there. It was a 10-15 minute walk to Fisherman's Wharf and 4 blocks to the top of Lombard where it becomes the crookedest street. Easy walk to catc
