Reception staff were very friendly including the Mini Mart girl on duty on 29Mar who chatted with us in a very friendly manner.   Excellent service from all staff, who were always smiling and helpful (with the exception of the person who seemed to be the Front Office manager). Food quality in the restaurant was generally very good: excellent value including bar prices. Comfortable and spacious room. Good pool, and the new spa services were enjoyable and good value. Obviously, renovations have been started sin - The staff were truly excellent. Facilities not bad, location fair for the area. For the price I definitely recommend this hotel - it's a bargain. I have stayed at a few of the other hotels in Umm Al Quwain and some cost twice as much for a worse experience. If on a budget, save your money and stay here, with the expectation that it is simply a superior 2-star.
