The staff are very friendly. The food served in the restaurant, bar and at breakfast is very good value for money and presented well. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. The Five Bells is a village pub and restaurant as well as being a hotel and this is reflected in the hospitallity of staff and customers alike. A very enjoyable stay. The staff were so friendly, greeted us like old friends. good food. friendliness of staff as well as some regular customers. This hotel is above the local bar, so if you want to meet the locals, this is the place to be. staff friendliness, food. The breakfast. The breakfast was good, well cooked and presented. The main bar would benefit from a Juke Box to add to the atmosphere. rooms a bit dated. Room 7, in which I stayed is insecure. There is a door to the corridor from the toilet/shower room that has a vacant/engaged type lock that can be opened from the corridor using a coin, gaining access to the bedroom and any valuables a guest has, this is unacceptable. shabby and in need of refurbishment. Rooms need a bit of refreshment. No hot water in the shower. A lot of noise from the wide screen TV in the bar below my room. Constant noise during the night from HGV's passing through the village.1. Our room was directly above the bar in which a very loud private party was held until about 1.15 a.m. The sound insulation was non-existent and the noise of people coming upstairs with doors banging and loud voices went on until 2 a.m. 2. The room smelt of stale cigarettes. 3. The plumbing was ineffeicient and noisy. We only stayed one night of a planned two night stay.
