What a lucky find we had at Hillside House, such a friendly family team, who make you so very welcome. Our room was a delight, quite large with a large bathroom, with both shower and bath. The room was very clean, with a very fresh seaside feel to it. It had lovely views over the front of the property, down over the fields, and you could just see the sea. It was great to see a hotel that thinks of families, our son had an amazing time playing on the bouncy castle, and exploring the fields t.
alle beoordelingen » What a super hotel with great service. We stayed in a double room, which was a very good size along with a good sized bathroom. The room was very clean and well furnished and in excellent order. We found the service to be excellent, very friendly and helpful. We only had chance to eat in their restaurant once, but the food was of a good standard. The open fire in the bar is so lovely! The Spa at Hillside House is also great, the decking area over looks their very large grounds and has a swim sp. What an excellent family run countryside hotel. We loved this hotel, although we only stayed for a short time,we had an amazing time, you really are made to feel so welcome. The service as mentioned before is very warm and friendly, and its lovely to see such friendly faces. Our room was a delight, and bathroom was very well sized. The hotel is bright, clean and has a very relaxed feel. The food is very good value and is good home cooked food. This hotel offers very good value, far cheaper than. Great value for money. Superb location for the beaches and towns around Sidmouth and the East Devon area. A very warm welcome from very friendly and helpful staff. A great spacious and well equiped room, very clean and well presented. We loved using the spa facilities, and the hot tub has the most amazing views over the surrounding fields and Aylesbeare common. We ate in the restaurant, and had lovely home cooked food. A perfect base for anyone wanting to explore coastal East Devon. Such a lovely hotel with very friendly and good staff. The rooms are very fresh and clean with a lovely modern seaside kind of theme. I love the spa and had treatments which used Elemis products, my favourite. They now have their log fire burning on the cooler days in the bar area, a great place to sit and have a glass of wine. This hotel is perfectly located for Exeter and East Devon. Hillside House Hotel is a refreshing change for anyone who does not want to stay at one of the "Old Peoples Home" type hotels that line the Sidmouth seafront. Our third stay at this great Sidmouth Hotel. Hillside House Hotel is like a home from home. Great service from very friendly and fun staff and the owners. Sat infront of the log fire with a glass of wine, bliss! We have stayed in a number of hotels in the Sidmouth area, and this really is the best for us. Large spacious family room. Very clean with large well appointed en-suite, very good tea & coffee facilities and large TV. Great views across the fields. Loved the afternoon tea & generous cake !! Large restaurant in relation to size of hotel, so good choice for evening meal. (Restaurant not open Sunday and Monday, but two very good alternatives a few miles away on main road.). A very friendly family orientated Hotel. Staff were all very helpful and made you feel at home as soon as you walked in. The family room was quite exceptional and "new". Brilliant for the children. Room was very comfortable and nicely decorated and clean .Loved the hot tub ,but was dissapointed the pool wasnt finished ,even though it was advertised thet it was finished the end of june.Staff very good , restaurant had a nice atmosphere. Was not at the hotel very long, so can't really comment on the rest of the property. freindly staff,good food and spotlessly modern facilities through out. the only problem i feel is when people get to know about this hotel it will be hard to get a room there. The attention to detail and nothing was too much trouble to ensured you had a great stay. We liked everything at Hilltop Hotel. A lovely family run business. Lovely room and the food was excellent. The photographs on the web site. Large and nice family room. huge deck area, with great views. Not a lot. Very basic for price. Breakfast not available in restaurant until 9am. (But can have earlier in room if ordered the night before.) Breakfast service in restaurant a little bit slow, even when we just wanted tea and toast. No dislikes as such although it would have been good to have a bar available until say 10.00ish. i.e to walk down and sit rather than feel you were asking a favour. We had a glass of wine in the room. But staff were incredibly helpful. Pool not finished ,Was dissapointed with one meal and wasnt offered any discount ,I payed about £12 and the pork was all fat. there was wi-fi at the hotel, but only limited to a certain area in the room - great if this could be improved upon. nothing to dislike. Sadly the spa facilites that were advertised on the site did not exsist, they will be open in june 2013 but this was not metioned on the site. i felt little cheated as my wife and i were looking forward to spending time in the spa. We both work long hard hours and money is tight so a nights break in ahotel with spa facilities sounded great. But sadly this wasnt to be. road mould smell in bathroom. Breakfast not being served til 9am when we had a small child who was up at 6am. The shower didnt work and WiFi was poor in our room. Breakfast was quite expensive and not included as bed and breakfast. The shower curtain. Signage from road. Advertised only as "Popplefords" to passing traffic. A main, winding road - not easy to slow down. Needs name of hotel to be much more visible. Breakfast began at 9.00. Too late for residents waiting to go out. We stayed over a weekend and there were no staff to be found on Sunday evening, it would have been nice to be able to sit in the bar or order a drink/food for the room. The bed seemed small I felt as if I would fall off in the night, the room was cold and had no character, was basic. My wife and I were very disappointed, this hotel left us feeling let down, it seemed different to what was advertised on the web site. I would not wish to stay there ever again!. Not so much "spa" and breakfast not included. room very small, and had cooking smells from the kitchen.breakfast, was confusing, but food was good on the whole,the tea towels used to handle hot plates, was very grubby,all needs better organizing, spa was closed on Sunday, so nowhere to shower or change. food was rubbish never in my life have i been served burnt fish before. mixed salad was two ingredients. we never ate there again . better food in local would not recommend at all lrlesturant. Breakfast was not included. 2 channels not working on TV. Breakfast was cold and poor quality, had better at Asda.Food and Spa very over priced. Also bedside Lamp not working and one bulb not working in main Light. indifference of staff very small room problems with room hotel main door locked by 9.30 had to find way to side door in complete darkness.
