  Food was hearty and really tasty. The breakfast was cooked fresh and was piping hot and the staff were relaxed and not clock watching which made a nice change! The evening meal menu was a mix of traditional pub favourites and additional quirky dishes all very tasty and well presented. We found the pub atmosphere very friendly aswell as being popular with the locals. Good p - I liked the very thoughtful touches - the good supply of decent coffee, the supply of toiletries, the dressing gowns and slippers. I like the fact the hotel was very quiet and I liked the garden. I liked the tasteful decor. There is a good ambience. I felt as if I'd had a restful stay somewhere lovely. The breakfast was good too. I liked the fact that there was no problem with parking. I was visiting Bath and parking is a nightmare so I decided to stay at the Northey and have no hassle.

  We missed the breakfast and the staff was kind enough to prepare our breakfast almost at lunch time. The wedding we came to attend was at 1300 and the check in time at 1400, but the hotel staff was very nice and let us into the room earlier so we could dress for the wedding. Close to various ancient monuments, white horses and Avebury. Good centre for walking and seeing the Wiltshire countryside. We went for the standard double which was fine for us.I think the more expensive rooms had spa baths but we preferred to save our money - it is good to have the

  It was a great place to go to after spending the day in Salisbury. We weren't sure about food options and unfortunately ate prior to getting there. Rollestone Manor has a great restaurant on site. If you don't eat there, you are better off finding something in Salisbury. We had twins on the ground floor which were very comfortable. We wished we had more time to just relax - After a few City hotels this was a breath of fresh air and gave us the relaxing vacation we needed. The rooms were very large, the beds so comfortable, hard to wake up for the delicious breakfast that was included. Dinner options available and certainly worth reserving the food was amazing. Can't decide on deserts, well go for their mini desert option - get to sample them all..... we were made to feel at home by the owners and the staff were super and so helpful. We loved it.   Wonderful location in centre of Devizes. This has always been one of my favourite pubs especially in winter with log fires, friendly bar staff, lots of dogs and a good range of food and drinks available at all times of day. Most of all The Bear is a fabulous old building which can not be easy to maint - Friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic breakfast! We were travelling with our son, his partner and a very young baby and also an elderly mother and aunt. All were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. They were also very accommodating when we requested early check-ins in order to change for a wedding. All in all a lovely hotel.

To be fair, we arrived were attending a party nearby, had B/Fast next morning and left so didn't make use of the pub etc. The staff were fine and there had been a slight mix up over booking B/Fast however the owner really went out of his way to sort us out. The breakfast was delicious but beware of the portion size (huge). The coaching inn is in the centre of Devizes. Ask to see the cellars as they were part of a tunnel system that ran all around Devizes in the old days. Room No. 4 is said to be one of the most haunted in England.
