We arrived a few hours early, as our room was not ready we decided to
head to the bar, there was a roaring fire and we were greeted by the
lovely barman, we ordered drinks and had a spot of lunch, which was a
simple sandwich, just what we wanted! By the time we finished our lunch
the room was ready, we were show to our room, and it was fantastic!

was warm and cosy, beautifully decorated and a fabulous view from the

My husband and I traveled here with our 3 month old son and had a
wonderful stay. The island is so beautiful and we very much enjoyed
being in a remote part of it. We were in the main building on the second
floor, so we had a lovely view of the lakes and wifi reach our room
(even though I know they like you to become "unplugged" for a
bit). The fireplace in the sitting room was so nice. We sat by it for
several hours one evening as our son laid on a blanket next to it...he
had never seen a fire

Very friendly lady owner.
Scenery lovely, clean and comfy apartment, good parking, plenty of space, good facilities if you want to cook, sit and eat, wash clothes, etc. Separate lounge to watch big tv- good when weather not great :) Tastefully decorated, well...very white with lots of accessories. Plenty of heaters - all rooms.

The staff (family) that run the apartments were superb. Can't really
emphasise that enough! We were informed of a slight issue with the
shower and were given a 65% discount to make up for it. We are very
grateful! The apartment itself was perfect for what we were looking for
- good value for money (even before the discount), modern and stylish
interior and includes everything you would need in a holiday apartment.
Would definitely go back!

I stayed in the attic room, which was very quaint and had a ton of character, I absolutely loved the room. The new owners were friendly and trying hard to make all the guests happy; this included 'a wee dram' of whisky on arrival and a bottle of sparkly when our table for dinner was not ready on time. Very approachable staff; fabulous environs, warm, clean and romantic buildings and gardens. Loved the sense of history; staying in Flora McDonald's house.

We arrived after climbing on Ben Nevis soaking wet and tired - very friendly and welcoming staff provided us with paper towels to dry our boots. In the morning fantastic Scottish breakfast was served, excellent guest house location and view! :) What was crucial for us - very convenient car park! Very good value for money! -

We found the Marmalade hotel perfect for our short trip to Portree. We are a family with children aged 9 and 10 and the family room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The restaurant food was good and the breakfasts lovely. The hotel is a small walk out of the town of Portree and has lovely views. We would definitely recommend it and hope to go back!

The hotel has a very nice location. Clean room. Nicely designed room with steps and separated sections between living and bedroom. Co-op is within walking distance. Breakfast has several choices and we love the poach smoked Haddock with poached egg. The room is spacious. Wifi is quite fast.

I liked this hotel, Highland standards can be poor compared with big town hotels, but this one is very good, excellant by highland standards. Situation on the main street is good, with good parking. Room was comfortable and clean with a good shower (unusual in the highlands) Staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast was first class.

Maggie was a tremendous help to us in lining up alternate transportation
when our tour company cancelled our tour. She let us leave luggage at
the hotel while did a bus tour before catching the train back to

I had asked for quiet rooms, and it was quiet and I slept well. The manager was very helpful to me with Directions etc. The meal was lovely and the prices reasonable. The location of the Hotel was perfect. We will hopefully go again next year. Reasonable rate for single occupancy. -
