  We stayed in one of the cottages and it was beautiful. So clean and well maintained, just lovely. We arrived extremely late (00.10) but were greeted with a warm, friendly smile by Steve who was so attentive. He showed us around and made sure we were settled and he couldnt of been nicer if he tried. Irton Hall is Dog Friendly and mine loved all the... wat mensen zeggen » new smells and walks in the grounds. It is only a 5 - 10 minute drive to Scafells so great location for walking which is why we were staying there. O - A real gem. Top quality accommodation at reasonable prices. Large well appointed rooms in a stunning location. A pleasure to find an establishment of this standard that serves good honest pub grub at reasonable prices - just what you need when climbing the hills. Good to see a hotel supporting local real ale brewers not not just the usual 'fizz' that most hotels offer. Food and drink prices all very reasonable, nice not to have a shock when paying the food and bar bill. Staff all very friendly

  After reading some negative reviews about this hotel I was really not expecting much at all. How wrong I was. My two children (age 4 & 8) and I stayed for 1 night. The staff were friendly,helpful and lovely with my children. The food was delicious. The offer of £20 for a four course meal and both children ate free meant we could dine in the h... wat mensen zeggen » otel. The pool was a little cool but still enjoyed to the full.We look forward to our next visit. - the staff members were awesome they looked after our requirements of the menu as my wife didn't want what was on the sweet menu, they said no problem. she asked what do you like and they made it happen. wow impressive the chief was out standing in the presentation and taste of all the food we had. we really recommend the food top class at reasonable price. just like to say thank you for making our weekend special we will be going back
