Enjoy outdoor dining overlooking the Menai Straits and Snowdonia National Park, or wander through Château Rhianfa's picturesque gardens and 3 acres of grounds. Period features such as wooden floors, panelled walls and painted ceilings are still visible. The on-site restaurant, Le Dragon Rouge, serves Welsh and French cuisine. A lounge menu until 17:00 is also available. Free Wi-Fi and a luxury private en suite are provided in each room, as well as tea/coffee making facilities. Suites, as well as apartments and cottages with kitchen facilities, are also available. The entrance to Snowdonia National Park is just 15 minutes’ drive away, with Bangor city centre and Beaumaris just 3 miles away.

We liked the location and ambience of the hotel. The decor and architecture we found very appealing. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. We understand that the hotel has been open only a matter of 8 months or so. The views from the front of the hotel are stunning. We were fortunate to have reasonably good weather which allowed us to make the most of the views - particularly the snow capped mountains of Snowdonia.
alle beoordelingen » Plas Rhianfa is simply amazing. The building is spectacular and the grounds are beautiful. The inside is a delight. It's like stepping back in time. You can wander around and enjoy the opulence or sit and read and relax in one of the many luxurious rooms. The staff are very friendly and helpful. A stunning chateau for a special occasion or a wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing weekend. The hotel is stunning. You are immediately made to feel welcome by all the people within the hotel. We booked the chateu dining experience and the food and service was simply outstanding. The rooms have their own individual character which makes the hotel unique. We will definitely be returning to this luxury hotel. The building is straight from a fairy tale, with gardens sloping down to the Menai Strait, and wonderful views. The interior is just opulent, with many public lounges, and the furnishings are all in keeping with the period look. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The shower room in our room was in a turret!. Our first trip to Wales - absolutely stunning. Scenery was amazing, people were delightful, it was everything and more we wanted from a trip to UK. Beaumaris was charming, the castle was fascinating, food very good, room very comfortable and grounds unbelievable. Wow, this was the best hoilday we have ever had, the hotel, location and food were all perfect. The staff friendly and very welcoming. If you only ever go on holiday once make it here. I could type and type about all the wonderful things about this place. The room was utterly luxurious, and had probably the largest bed I've ever slept in. The hotel has a lot of very interesting nooks and crannies which you're encouraged to explore. The grounds are beautiful and of the many rooms look out onto them. Such a fairy tale building. So beautifully furnished inside with sculptured gardens outside - and a dragon. Thought we'd have a quick look around outside & came in an hour later... Menai Strait with the fog rolling in is an amazing sight!. Staff really friendly, helpful and welcoming without being stuffy or over the top which made them seem more genuine. Beautiful views from the snowdonia sweet. Absolutely loved our stay and looking forward to coming back. Liked the public rooms and the views over the straights and Snowdonia as well as the general ambiance of the place. The group dining experience was very good and different. Wasn't able to access the internet from our room despite the hotel advertising that wifi is freely available throughout this 5 star hotel. The only dining option was the fine dining set meal, but the staff were happy to make other recommendations if you wanted something less fancy. The beach is mostly a ledge of rocks covered in slippery seaweed. The dining room was large and with the separate tables it was a little difficult breaking the ice with other visitors. The special dinner they offer (which was delicious) was the best thing we did for getting to know others there. That is a very important feature for a b and b. We were in the standard room and there were pipes in there which got very hot at night and a bit unsightly, I wish we had spent a few pounds more for a better room. Please don't let this put you off going to this hotel but just be warned. The Wi-Fi did not work and the television reception was virtually non- existant at times. I admit this is nit-picking as given how beautiful the hotel is, sitting watching TV shouldn't be your primary concern. It was however unfortunate as after 3 days of cycing, we'd missed the Grand Prix and only wanted to see the highlights before going out. When that didn't work we attempted to watch it on iplayer only to discover the wi-fi wasn't working either. We like blankets as duvets are often too hot at night. But the staff very quickly remedied the situation for us. Hot tub was not working. The small car park. If you go, pay the extra for a room with a view. Only minor complain regarding toilets. Several of the many reception rooms/bars have toilets in the corner. Unfortunately many guests don't have the manners to close the door after use, so staring at a toilet bowl with seat up is not ideal!. The only reservation was that the evening meals were restricted to three courses. We had to request for one course only which was catered for, but perhaps this option should be incorporated in the menu. The lack of meal options. The food seems to let the hotel down. At breakfast it would have been more fitting if the cooked breakfasts were made to order rather than being available as a buffet. Nothing. Nothing not to like. The rooms can be a little chilly. Banquet was good but it would be nice to have an a la carte choice on alternate nights. Leaving... nothing. Could not think of anythink that would put us off going back. Buffet breakfast - not appropriate in a place as special as this! Lack of a la carte dining - would have eaten in more often if it had been available. Very soft bed with no support No slippers Small car park. staff a bit pretentious,tasting menu not enjoyable,. We had to wait for fifteen mins to be seated at breakfast was a bit cold when served. There was nothing we didn't like - apart from leaving there!. The hotel insists that those having dinner dine at 7.30, have the same 5 course menu, and almost unbelievably, sit all together at the same table. This is called Chateau Dining !. Cost of the dining experience. No porter to carry bags, reception staff had to help. Had to phone to gain access when returning late. Shower not very powerful and safe not working. There were no downsides. Tight car parking. Nothing to complain about. no menu for evening meal you had to have the dining experiance which was very expensive. Nothing. We didn't mind, but some might find dining around a large table a little impersonal. The parking and maybe a small whinge about the amount of stairs that we had to go up & down. staff attitudes, seems to be low morale, doesnt seems to be a happy place, breakfast service was appaling,. no childrens meals, at breakfast although advertised had no porridge or yoghurts for 2 days no room service available. Cooked breakfast was a supplement. No food other than breakfast or set evening meal available. The price and the breakfast wasn't up to much you get a better deal in a travelodge. Breakfast was very poor . Limited choice and poorly presented. Small, cluttered room with no view. Bed was far too soft Noisy room alongside stairway and noise from room above. Limited parking space.

Please inform the property if any of the guests are children, so the rooms can be set accordingly. Please note that Le Dragon Rouge Restaurant serves evening meals from 18:30 to 21:00. It is recommended that guests book a table in advance of their stay. Special diets can be catered for with prior notice. Guests who are staying on half board will enjoy the Chateau Dining Experience, which consists of a Canape reception at 19:00, then dining at 19:30 in a grand banqueting setting. The dinner will commence with a starter chosen by head chef Andrew Sheridan, followed by his intermediate course. The evening continues with his main courses followed by a pre-dessert and chefs special dessert. Special diets can be catered for with advance notice.
