  Heather was extremely nice and welcoming during our stay and we had a wonderful time at The Hedges. Breakfast is excellent and more than readies you for a full day of walking around the city. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it. - The owner, Heather - she is lovely, extremely helpful, makes you feel very comfortable, and genuinely cares for you. Breakfast was delicious and the breakfast room itself is very charming. The room was cosy, beautifully decorated, and charming. The shower was also excellent. Attention is paid to every detail, and I would definitely come back there!

  All our stay was perfect. The bedroom was just like the one in the pictures. Very clean and comfy. Great double bed. Perfect with tea/coffee/chocolate facilities in the room. Double glass window. Dark and thick curtain to get the room dark at night. We had view over York Place (and the road works) but it was not a problem as they did not work at n... wat mensen zeggen » ight, so it was pleasant to sleep. The road workers arrived around 7.30 in the morning but we were already preparing us for breakfast (monday to frida - The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner. The morning breakfast is very hearty and very delicious and the breakfast room is very prett

  The staff was very helpful! The rooms were very tidy, clean and comfortable. The Staff was a great help when I asked them for help. They had the most wonderful breakfast! Mirella is the best host! - The welcome was warm, the room was clean and had all the attributes of a 4* hotel, plus some. A warm comfortable bed and the room was very quiet, I probably had the best sleep for weeks. The breakfast good as you get at any 4* hotel I have stayed in up and down the country.   Beautifuly decorated and very comfortable place to stay. Dean is a wonderful host - we felt like visiting an old friend. Good location as Edinburgh's Grouse House is situated in walking distance to all the attractions but far enough from them to easily find free parking. The added advice helped us plan our days. The fact that everything was clean and comfortable and tastefully done made our stay very enjoyable. The location made it very easy to visit The Royal Mile and all local attractions and dining. We would stay again.

The location itself is very central and the bus from the airport shuttle bus drops you right behind their street. At a perfect spot in “Edinburgh new town”, in the middle of shopping and restaurant areas. The building originally from early 19th century is well preserved and nicely taken to the 21st. The top floor stairs is old and torn but so full of charms. Nice rooms in harmony with building, furniture and facilities. Run by friendly owners and an adorable old cat watching the lounge. Good WI-FI. Breakfast is served at neighbouring Rick’s Hotel, really good.

After staying one day you feel like you are at home more than a hotel. Location is 15-20 mins to the center and 5 mins by bus which is really good. I will - Room was very nicely and comfortably furnished, inpeccably clean that it made me feel at home immediately. There were nearby bus stops but I had preferred to walk (about 15 minutes to Waverley Station). A large supermarket (Tesco) is 5 minutes away and so are a number of restaurants. I went on a day tour that set off early in the morning and John (the owner) gladly served breakfast earlier than usual for me, so that was great hospitality.   Located a short walking distance (10 - 15 minutes) from the heart of Edinburgh, Craigmoss Guest House is very convenient for sightseeing, eateries, pubs and shopping. The owners, Harry and Isabelle are very welcoming, friendly and willing to share their local knowledge. The home cooked breakfast started the day well.   This b&b is excellent in every way. The Georgian home is most welcoming, and is as elegantly decorated as it is comfortable. The breakfast menu is as varied as you would find in the best hotel, and is beautifully presented by a pleasant staff. This will be my "Edinburgh home". - The room was well stocked with complimentary bottles of water every day. A lovely china tea service with a selection of teas and shortbread cookies as well as chocolates were in the room every day. The soaps and shampoo were ample and well stocked. The bed, couch and chairs were very comfortable and the room was large and had beautiful big windows. It is also situated in a lovely quiet area with access to private gardens nearby.
