  i was staying there for work and the hotel had a verry homely feel to it. i will deff stat there next time im working in york - Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was recommended to us by a friend. We really enjoyed our stay in York.

  The staff are amazingly friendly and really made us feel welcome. Everyone was cheerful, helpful and all round nice. It felt more like a family hotel than a chain hotel (and I mean that as a positive comment.)   My friends and I booked this hotel as an overnight stop before visiting the Yorkshire Air Museum at Elvington. Having recently stayed in a number of so called high quality hotels (including one in Park Lane, London where most of the staff were rude, it took 20 minutes to check in & 20 minutes to queue for breakfast), The Minster shone above th... wat mensen zeggen » e rest. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble for any of them (in particular Stuart who I - I loved the fact we were made very welcome by the receptionist on arrival, a very pleasant girl who recognised us from last year when we stayed there. Also the lovely,pleasant man who I think was called Graham took us to our room which was on the top floor but had a 4 poster bed and was a lovely room, he also worked in the restaurant and he and all the waitresses were very friendly and attentive.   We stayed in reubens court and the location is fantastic - only about five minutes from city centre, and there is a tesco express and morrisons local just up the road to buy food etc for the apartment. TV included sky movies and sky sports (the boyfriend was very happy about that) We didn' - We stayed in the riverside Merchant Exchange apartment and the location was brilliant, just a few minutes walk to all the shops, restaurants & tourist attractions. The views across the city and river were lovely and the apartment was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. We appreciated that parking, Wi-Fi and Sky HD were all included in the price.   Jamal met us at the flat - very simple check in process. Having an allocated parking spot was fabulous. A bit of a walk to use the lift, but worth it with luggage. The location was fabulous - so close to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Also, close to Sainsbury. The apartment was not fancy, but it was comfy and clean. - Jamal was so cari... wat mensen zeggen » ng and helpful and nothing was too much for him, this made the stay a real treat. The location is second to none in York. The apartment was superb, eberything a family would need. At this time of the year the heating was efficient and most welcome without any attention to settings from my point of view.
