This hotel offered a perfect relaxing environment and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The room size was fantastic. The full English Breakfast was delicious and even with my daughters food allergies there was plenty of choice available. There is a clean well menued pub in close proximity (easy 2-3 min walk) with well priced, tasty food for other meals and again well managed with a park. alle beoordelingen »
Elegant room, clean and well maintained, friendly staff and a wonderfully quiet setting.the comfort and location being such lovely grounds. Surroundings, atmosphere. The rooms were wonderfully decorated, the views from the room were gorgeous and the spa tub easily held two. Good value and far more interesting than the average chain and much less expensive excellent breakfast. The room was excellent with a 4-poster bed and jacuzzi. We only met one member of staff on duty who was friendly, was expecting us and knew we were vegetarians. The hotel is about 30 minutes from Hay-on-Wye, so from our point of view was witihin reach of the Literary Festival. a top qualtiy hotel , which was secluded , and very comfortable .A really good value hotel. Stunningly presented and very quiet. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, warm comfortable room. country house feeling of the room. large and comfortable. Size of rooms and how quiet it was. Freindly and relaxed atmosphere. Lovely hotel, near to town. room. Location, Peaceful, Quiet. It was good value for money, the room and especially the bed and bath were extremely comfortable and it did feel a romantic, quiet place to get away from things. Very spacious room. Digital TV.interesting Hotel with some style, but really requiring some upgrade in several areas. On the other hand, its well priced, quiet and relaxing. The room was very impressive. The breakfast was excellent. Comfortable bed. Good accommodation. lovely room. The room was clean but the bath panel was hanging off. The breakfast was good but there seemed to be only one person both cooking and serving which left guests to fend for themselves on first entering the dinning area and you where asked to ring a bell for service when you needed anything. The hotel was pleasant but I doubt that we would stay there again. friendlines of staff. the views. Decor good and roomy. friendliness. Room size. There was nothing to like about the stay here. It was especially cold outside, and the room was a little on the cool side. We prefer hotels with character, not international chains. Other people may want something different - not slightly 'faded grandeur'. Reception is at first off putting, but it does work. No proper reception, but not really a problem. It felt a bit like a ghost hotel with complete lack of staff anywhere. No offer to open the bar. The rooms, although beautiful, could do with a little maintenance.Very low water pressure in shower. no restaurant in the evenings so you have to go out.The room was quite cold initially but it soon warmed up. No shelves in the bathroom to put toiletries. Room not heated before arrival. Took a long time to heat up.no proper reception, place is more suited to parties and weddings, breakfast not up to much. insufficient staff, at times there didnt appear to be anyone around, our room was not cleaned or bed made on one day, although they appologised as an oversight, but as there did not appear to be too many staying there, then it appeared they were more atuned to the needs of the weddings that were going on. hotel geared to wedding parties only. Yes - if you want a good shower, don't come here!. Poor facilities, not cleaned well, no evening meal available felt vulnerable as no reception staff etc around place empty. Room quite dusty looking tired and could not open windows fully (it was 82c that weekend). There was no heating and I was very cold. The room was freezing and when we turned the radiator on (which you would have thought they might have done before hand to warm the room) the room then reeked of damp. The bathroom radiator didnt work and left the bathroom practically arctic. The reception was less than welcoming, little to no facilities, really a ***BandB not **** hotel. .Did not like the male member of staff, he couldn't get away from us fast enough, made no eye contact and his conversation was insincere. The female was also insincere, but over friendly, I don't know which was worse.
