Wat mensen zeggen
The hotel is next to the railway station (3 minute walk) with frequent trains to Cambridge and London Liverpool station (every hour). This makes the hotel a good option if you want to stay outside but still visit Cambridge and/or London by train. The area around the hotel seems to renovated recently and there is a large park & ride lot in front of the hotel.
The road next to the hotel is very busy and noisy.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was nice and clean and had a nice big show. alle beoordelingen »
We booked holiday inn for a family wedding in Cambridge. This hotel was an idle location, very clean, friendly staff and cost effective. Liked everything about the hotel and will certainly recommend this hotel to anyone.
It's in a peaceful location away from hussel and bustle. There is a railway station next door but couldn't here the trains as hotel windows are triple glazed. There is a bar next door which serves breakfast and bar meals so very handy. Will definitely stay there again if I .
Friendly welcoming staff
Though bed soft actually slept quite well. Bathroom ok ( save lighting). Modern feel. Good desk for working At. Fair amount of space for price, Convenient location - v near railway line - but with window shut no disturbing noise( and our room was directly facing tracks - closest to railway ). Good for cambridge, north Essex countryside Etc etc. nice sized double room.
The hotel is perfect for IWM Duxford The staff were great and very helpful and attentive
The rooms were clean and bright
The local restaurant served very good food
The breakfast we one of the best I have had in this type of hotel especially when you take into account how busy they were.
The night staff were exceptionally helpful, with local knowledge and all staff were thoughtful and friendly. The train station by the side of the hotel runs into Cambridge regularly. The Red Lion opposite the car park serves costly but very good food.
It's good for us as its local as we live in Whittlesford and can put family and friends there to stay when we can't fit everyone at our house to stay.very helpful staff and very friendly.would share my opinion on face book but don't use it.
The room was comfortable and the staff were exceptional. The food at the Red Lion across the car park (I believe it is the same business as the hotel) was excellent, as were the staff.
We liked the space and the modern style. The room are big and the bathrooms, with huge shower cubicles, very large. The decorations all over the hotel is pleasant to the eye.
Everything you would expect from this chain. Modern rooms, clean, good size and comfortable.
Considering it was right next to a train station, you couldn't hear the trains.
cosy full English breakfast in The Red Lion; news TV in the reception area, staff helpful and skilled in the hotel, close to Imperial War Museum Duxford but need taxi or car.
Very clean and comfortable. Very helpful and welcoming staff. Good place to eat nearby and offer to book table much appreciated.
Nice spacious rooms, good shower!, great buffet breakfast, friendly staff, convenient location for Imperial War Museum in Duxford.
Staff - very professional, friendly and helpful. Beautifully clean and well organised. Lovely environs - Red Lion a great boon.
Friendly, efficient, helpful staff; clean comfortable rooms; excellent breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Beside travel facilities-quiet-adjoining dining in Red Lion more than adequate-ample of road and secure parking.
Bright modern interior. Nice bathroom with good shower. Good that buffet breakfast included in the price.
Excellent staff service, comfortable and well presented, clean room. Great value including breakfast.
Very impressed with adapted bathroom for disabled.
helpful staff on desk, facilites at Red Lion.
The hotel was clean, well located, well equipped and met our needs to our complete satisfaction.
Friendly welcome on check in
Continental breakfast was good value and straightforward.
Very comfortable rooms, breakfast excellent choice available, friendly helpful staff.
Great Location right next door to the Railway Station...with good pub food next door.
The staff were excellent, accommodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble.
Proximity to IWM Duxford. Clean, quiet, good price, good breakfast, nice staff.
Food from the Red Lion was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
room was clean and adequate. Staff helpful. Food at nearby restaurant good.
Good location for overnight stop near M11. Clean, quiet, helpful staff.
Good, clear design rooms. Staff were very helpful and keen to assist.
the hotel is clean, bedrooms spacios, and breakfast very good.
The close proximity to Duxford Museum which is what I wanted.
Location to Cambridge, Cleanliness of hotel and the breakfest.
friendly staff,cleanliness,ease of parking,good breakfast.
Room, comfy bed, nice warm room, clean, nice breakfast.
spacious bedroom, roomy shower, everything very clean.
excellent quality of room and bathroom helpful staff.
all staff were really helpful. meals were excellent.
The whole experience first hotel I have stayed in.
Very convenient stop over for visiting Cambridge.
Clean, convenient, does what it says on the tin!.
superb shower-free breakfast and ice machine!.
Quality of room and bathroom both excellent.
Cleanliness and comfort.
Friendly service.
the staff were excellent and welcoming.
Friendly staff, cleanliness of the room.
Location and clean spacious rooms.
Easy to find, nice looking rooms.
Clean comfy room. Great shower.
Nice rooms at a good price.
Friendly staff. Wifi.
Good breakfast.
Breakfast buffet was included and served in the hotel. The selection was very poor and many items were not available for some time. Staff clearly could not cope with the few items to check for refills. In the end the girls from the front desk stepped in to help with refills and clean the buffet. What a shame.
You may try The Red Lion opposite the hotel for a better breakfast although that would come at an extra price.
I didn't dislike anything about this hotel everything was just perfect.
Bed was a bit soft. The coffee from the machine for breakfast was strangely unpleasant. I switched to tea ( bag, hot water ,cup - less to go wrong). Lighting poor in bathroom - albeit moderately stylish for Holiday Inn express.
The bed in our room was really too soft for my personal taste and unfortunately because of this I did not sleep that well so heard the trains in the early morning.
Room on the station side - Thursday night trains ran till midnight almost and started again at 6am. Triple glazing would solve the problem.
The immediate surroundings include the railway line, the station car park and some small businesses, but beyond these the area is very pleasant.
The room was smelly (305 or 306, not sure). I think somebody smoked inside, so I cannot fault the hotel for this.
A little out of the way if you are visiting Cambridge but fine for visiting the surrounding area.
Free Internet would have been useful. Free Internet available in the pub across the road.
AC in room 109 did not cool down enough, I would have liked to have a minibar in the room, no public transport to Imperial War Museum Duxford which makes it only 'good' for the location instead of 'excellent' (arrived by own plane at Duxford airfield so no car at hand).
Bed felt like a number of people of great weight had been sleeping on it - saggy, and the railway line right outside the window makes for instrusive noise during the late evening and early morning.
Bedroom much too hot - could not get temp below 20.5 C. Soap dispenser too high in shower for wheelchair user. Foot operated bin in bathroom! TV remote grubby and had intermittent fault. Coffee really dreadful. No hot water on last day - was told someone would ring me about it but have heard nothing.
Nothing.
Beds not as comfortable as Premier Inn. A bit on the low side. Towels a bit thin.
Having to leave.
Card for door entrance kept playing up.Proximity to road and rail...noise.
Charge for wifi.
Nothing.
Been in the room next to the platform.
not a thing.
The room walls are very thin. Has to have the TV turned down very low as not to disturb the guests next door.
noise from railway station.
Strong pong of drains on the stairs.
Breakfast very busy and facilities could not cope.
Lack of places to eat, Red Lion is ok, wish we had a choice. Also sat nav took me to the other side of the hotel.
If there was a downside it would be the train tracks when windows are open.
none.
nothing.
odd smell in the corridors, service in the Red Lion was very poor one night.
N/A.
nothing.
Room was very hard to get warm.
Nothing.
no hot water so not able to have a shower so very disappointed.
Small room where the breakfast items are displayed is very cramped, too small to accommodate many guests at a time.
Quite cold during winter, especially in a bathroom. While AC system can be used as a heater, it does not mix the air in the room so at the same time temperature near the floor and on a head level may differ for up to 10°C.
As the hotel actually resides in Whittlesford, it might take some time to reach Duxford. And you have to literally cross a freeway without any traffic lights.
Internet is costly.
Very crowded at breakfast.
Road noise.
Poor power in shower.
