The Executive double room was large and comfortable. I usually stay in an Atrium room at this hotel but that option wasn't available via letsbookhotel.com - but I was happy with the allocated room. Sometimes Atrium rooms are a bit noisy (it's an open plan arrangement so if someone else has their balcony door open and the tv playing loudly, the noise spreads around) but that was not a problem in this room.
alle beoordelingen » Food was excellent including the 2 restaurants attached to the hotel. All the staff were friendly and very helpful which gives the whole place a happy atmosphere. Lovely touch also of being able to have fresh milk for your tea and coffee in the room and bottled water too. We used both restaurants. Sir Norman on our first night as an informal arrival and The Gallery on the last night as a celebration to finish our holiday. It was good to have both to choose from. Excellent breakfast every day and helpful reception staff. A good welcome from Staff on duty at reception and in bar as I arrived late that was pleasing. Room was good but bathroom excellent, even the little things, good heated towel rail with more than enough Towels, excellent towels fine quality. We were very happy with the friendly and efficient staff. The hotel was very clean and the breakfast excellent. The hotel was very convenient to theatre and shops. We were pleased to have a small fridge in the room. We had a complimentary upgrade to the Hollywood suite. This was lovely! The staff were really helpfull and the breakfast was very good. Excellent location! Free car park was handy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!. The room was large and very comfortable. Any facility I could have wanted was available. The food wad excellent and I ate breakfast looking at the sea. Was also in town, so handy for shopping. The great staff. And the room at the front of the hotel overlooking the esplanade. The room was big with a large ensuite and armchairs at the window was just devine to watch the sunset. Great position of hotel. Excellent breakfasts. Very spacious rooms. I stayed at the Sefton 5 yrs ago+ it was good quality in all respects. On this occasion the cooked Breakfast was terrible, eggs greasy, poorly presented; the 3 rd floor carpets looked unclean, paintwork chipped: altho staff weren't unfriendly , they could have been more welcoming. Definitely a disappointing stay. I loved the character of the open courtyard and the bedroom and bathroom were nice. Nothing but my normal hotel The Regency was full. friendly staff good location. The view from the window - was depressing and the noise from an air conditioning (or something similar) unit outside. The first room we had was above the kitchen fans and was noisy from this. Rooms overlooking the ateium are much better Thank you though for letting us change rooms with no hassle. Can't really find much to suggest improvements for. I was in a room at the back, and left window open as I like a little fresh air, when the kitchen was opened the extract duct fans made more than a little noise, at 6.30 AM !!! Next time either a front room or another hotel. The only thing we didn't like was we thought certain parts of the hotel were overdue a refurbishment, ie. our room was very tired looking and one part of the carpet was threadbare and the furniture was slightly worn. The swimming pool was closed. Having to leave after two nights. I booked this specifically as it was the only hotel that had availability that was 'disabled friendly' as my Mom is 80 and not particularly spritely. The whole hotel is very disabled friendly with ramps and easy access doors but the rooms have a large step up to the bathrooms which my mother found difficult to negotiate on her many trips to the bathroom during the night. That I couldn't stay longer!!. Although we had a lovely sea view from our room we felt that the room was looking a little tired and needed some refurbishment. General decor a little faded now. Lack of air-conditioning. It was unusually hot that week. The room temperature was bearable but not up to the best standard. Music in Sir Norman's bar a bit too loud. We enjoyed everything. Draught beer ran out in Normans Bar - and not replaced. The lift could be a bit of a pain at busy periods. Not all the staff were friendly when you came into the hotel each time the Reception staff did not acknowledge you or even look up in your direction. This was the only thing with hotel that needs improvement the reception staff need to be more friendly they are the front line people. Most of other staff were friendly and spoke. Swimming pool was closed. Car park entrance goes over a kerb, if you have a car with a low front skirt it will catch. Pool no longer available had to use Palace facilities.1room dark with poor view same price as the sea view room. some internal areas need redecorating especially the corridors. Slow lift, Needs more vegetarian options. only that we didn't have a chance to stay longer -- there's nothing not to like... no faults. nothing. nothing. Requires a lot of money spending on upgrade, reception staff were poor and not particulary interested. We had booked the Sefton as it had a swimming pool. Unfortunatley this was not available for use which was disappointing. the hotel was looking old my view from 2 windows was on old (and dirty) walls the part of the hotel where I stayed needs refurbishing. Whole hotel is looking a bit tired and in need of some redecorating. We stayed in room 321 Bathroom needs updating. Lift, room subject to noise from hotel equipment outside. The Sir Norman Wisdom bar should be an asset but is cold, clinical and unwelcoming - a lost opportunity which makes the Sefton like any other. Room cost high for a solo stay. Staff, room wasn't ready, tried to charge for things we didnt have. No wonder they are losing money if this is how they treat guests, the Isle of Man Goverment are bailing them out to tune £4.3m. Wouldnt waste the tax payers money, never stay there again. Hotel is disappointing, Would not rate the hotel a 4 star, very old and dated and felt images of hotel were misleading. Parking was limited and awkward. The rooms are not on a par with similar hotels in the UK. There is a tired look about them. Hotel is overpriced by contemporary standards. Would recommend but with reservations. rooms were old and warn. keys did not always work. initially staff at desk not overly helpful. damaged room furniture. Booked a sea view room only to find not available on arrival, very disappointed, room given was too hot at night. Restaurant was very good but will not be returning as resident. The reception areas were very cold. It was a bit dingy. The wind whistled through my bedroom window which was also cold. Very dated, bedrooms need revamping,carpets throughout are old and stained, bed was uncomfortable, breakfast was adequate. As a frequent visitor to IOM , the Sefton is certainly now off my places to stay. old rooms slanted creaky floor towel warmer not working wifi very slow ragged towels broken window hard bed very expensive water in shower turns on off on its own. bicycles were not available fire alarm went off twice during our stay.
