Small and very friendly, lovely room which opened up onto the beer garden, lots of small touches like toiletries, a small fridge, hairdryer, ironing board, lg wall mounted tv, A fan (essential because of the hot weather), tea/coffee/water provided. Lovely beer garden and good food. The breakfast was good and included in the price which I thought was good value at £40. I also had my own en-suite. Everything was added to the bill for ease. made us feel very welcome frrom begining to end, nothing was to much trouble, staff are really friendly, and food was really good. enjoyed it very much and will be returning in the near future.

The atmosphere was good with a good sized room for the price. I was lucky that I was the only one staying that night, which virtually meant ensuite facilities.

The room smelt quite damp despite being in a heatwave. I loved the position of the room in one of the outbuildings leading onto the garden but the door was a single wood door with only thin panes of glass in, as were the windows, from a security point of view I felt a bit vulnerable as anyone could have come off the street and easily gained access. Maybe consider getting double glazing with a good sturdy door.

2 nights wasnt long enough, could have done with a week to see some sites around coggeshall/ colchester.
A bit noisy being next to a busy road, but I sort of expected that.
Bed was a little harsh on my not so young back.
