Stayed here on saturday night for a family christening the next day, relaxed , the kids loved the animals, goats,donkey,ferrets,pigs. Great bar seving guiness on draft is always a winner, breakfast was excellent.large clean room with a bath/shower. Couldnt ask for more.Dog friendly as well , we didnt take ours but we will next time. Hotel was clean, warm and much better then I expected. Room had brand new carpets and was spotless. Beds were very comfy and for the price could not have expected more. Food was good quality and also great value for money, with lovely proper Lincolnshire sausages on the cooked breakfast.
alle beoordelingen » We ordered a large room and found ourselves in a very roomy suite. The standard of the suite was excellent, beautifully decorated and well laid out. Outstanding value for money. The staff were friendly an helpful. Plenty of car-parking available. Good breakfast. Would stay here again. Just about everything! Value for Money Staff are great Rooms are good Food's good quality & value. Arrived late one Sunday night, after kitchen had officially shut, but they still came up with 2 meals served with a smile. Very convenient location. Great for us as we have dogs and the rooms are in a separate building so you don't have to take the dogs through the main building. Good selection of homely food available in the bar/restaurant. Warm, friendly, homely atmosphere. Nice peaceful setting Breakfast was plentiful and filling. We have booked to stay again in September for a family wedding. The WindMill building itself was very atmospheric for our meals and the breakfast was excellent, Also liked the ducks and hens and ponies etc at the back. The room in the lodge was good. Modern, clean, very comfortable bed and very spacious compared to some. Food in the restaurant, and service was good. Location is superb and the fact that it is very dog-friendly is wonderful for us. Staff very welcoming and helpful and rooms very good. They allowed us to check in after midnight as we were unable to check in earlier due to being at a wedding. Excellent value for money. The rooms was clean and well stocked with tea and coffee. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good with choices of cereals or a cooked breakfast. The bar food was very nice and filling. Very relaxed, staff not intrusive in anyway. Wonderful to wander around with my dogs and see Arties farm animals. The best full English breakfast I have had in a long while. Some of the staff were helpful when we were trying to get wifi access in the restaurant area as it wasn't in the rooms as advertised. We were visiting relatives so this was a handy location. Close to town (Brigg). Spacious car park and room. Some staff were very accommodating esp on our second night. New carpet. Clean bed. Food on second night was good. Meals were basic but well prepared and well served WiFi was OK in the room. the wall paper on the feature wall. Convenience to the motorway. Comfortable bed. Bathroom is a little tired and needs a re-fresh, but was clean. TV didn't work properly in the room, but I think this was more down to the weather conditions (4in snow) rather then a fault. Running out of Guinness for 2-3 days! Sometimes staff levels are a little low. Lack of soap/soap dispenser to wash your hands in the en-suite bathroom. Lack of evening bar snacks as food dispensers were empty. Shelf holding kettle and tea/coffee-making facilities was loose and needs fixing to the wall to make it more sturdy as could cause a serious burn if it fell when the kettle is full of boiling water. No hot water when we arrived, sorted within 1 hour. Breakfast started a little late for me (0700). I needed to be on the road by 0715 and also needed to check out, so it was very rushed. An extra half hour (0630 start) would make all the difference. The bathroom was somewhat outdated but much more than adequate. The breakfast was quite good but the evening bar meals just adequate.. Struggled to find where breakfast was being served, a couple of signs would sort this out. Bed not king size. Food not so brilliant, but acceptable. Noise from the nearby motorway. Bit of traffic noise from M180, not too bad. Proximity to motorway makes it a little noisey. The whole place looked rather tired and in need of a spot of TLC. No complaints. Bathroom was a bit moldy and smelly (room 21). Mattress wasn't comfortable. Tables weren't cleared during breakfast and arriving at the dining room just before 9 am , we found it messy and dirty. Probably won't stay again. The bathrooms could do with upgrading but with the prices being so affordable you get what you paid for. Nothing. Nothing . Resturant could achieve more in general and with more staff. Bit chaotic at times. no milk for tea. Not the cleanest - mould round shower although rest of bedroom clean, breakfast room gloomy and not decorated since our previous stay 5 years ago. Had to go into kitchen (not the most inspiring !!) to ask for marmalade/jam and brought a handful of half-used jars. I had room 2 but unfortunatly the window was by the main entrance and smokers smoke seeped through i had to change rooms. The bed wasnt comfortable but that was down to my personnel taste. Too near the motorway so traffic noise was an issue. Meal times were chaotic, first choices weren't on the menu, but weren't told this at time of ordering, they even brought out an alternative meal of mushroom stroganoff instead of salmon pasta, hoping we wouldn't notice, we then had to wait another 30 minutes for an alternative choice. No hairdryer in room. No bottom drawer in dressing table. A bit tired decor but what could one expect for the price. There is a photo of a very elegant room on the website but we didnt see this. Room tired and dated. Nowhere to sit and work in the room. Breakfast buffet very basic. No black pepper grinders at restaurant tables. If this place was given a little makeover it would be fantastic, just lacks the little details. Feels like it's on the way down, rather than the way up. no hand soap, only 1x small and 1xbath towel, no lid on toilet, bath was dirty, not enough tea/coffee/milk, having to go back to reception to get card activated each night. the bed was very uncomfortable the pillow slips had not been ironed, there were no glasses in the bathroom and it had a musty smell. the tea coffee tray was not refilled the bed was never made and the shower/basin not cleaned. We had booked to stay longer but left to find a more comfortable hotel but the lady was very fair and only charged for the nights we stayed. could not turn the radiator down - too hot when opened windows, noise of road, geese, ? peacocks and donkeys!! Had disturbed sleep. Lodge rooms very tired and worn out-requires a refit of the Bathrooms and they need to Employ more staff as their people were all tired from working to many hours and trying to do to much. Karen was miserable and not a good face to have greeting you after a very long day at 11.00pm when we checked-in. There were four of us and all the others commented on how abrupt and unhappy she was. smell in corridor. Creaky bed 10% rise in price since we stayed there.Rooms a little dated, no headboard. there was no soap in the bathroom and noise from rooms wasbad. Housekeeping was not up to scratch. TV did not work, even after handyman had been we could only get BBC1 and that was in black & white. The food on the first night was not nice, very glutinous sauces and generally not up to the standard that they advertised. Shower was poorly maintained and needed cleaning. the stone fire place- the fag burn in the bottom of the bath-the water running out of the waste pipe when having a shower- the mould around edges of bath, sink and toilet- cobwebs hanging from ceiling and the oversized under wear left in the drawers.. This was very much a generic motel and not the sort of facility that I was expecting. The Mill has been converted into a kitchen and dining room and is very much a function centre and not the historic character accommodation that it purported to be. No soap but lots of shampoo.
