Pleasant & comfortable environment, nice decor and cosy feel.
The guest lounges means you don't have to sit in your bedroom if it rains!
Liked the option of drying our wet clothing if required
Liked the guest bar facility (although we didn't use it)
'Lazy late breakfast' option is nice for those who need a lie in or a more relaxed start to the day (as not everyone in the Lakes is there to go on strenuous walks!)
Plenty of maps for walking and helpful hosts with expert knowledge of where to . alle beoordelingen »
We stayed at elder grove for 3 nights and it was a wonderful weekend the hosts vicki and Paul are absolutely lovely the breakfast is fab and whenever we had a question they were always happy to help they also had brilliant maps for us to take out on our journeys which were very easy to follow Paul chose a walk for us as we weren't sure and it was perfect, I hope we weren't to much trouble because they will definitely be seeing us again infact I think my parents are now going next month on our r.
The four poster room we booked (5) was a good size, with a lovely
bathroom. There were lots of little home comforts like a fleece blanket,
hot water bottle, tv and dvd player, nice products in the bathroom, a
sofa, decent lighting....all of which meant for a comfortable stay,
particularly given the rubbish cold April weather! Paul and Vicky were
great hosts, the cumberland breakfast was awesome, and the whole stay
was fabulous. We will definitely be returning :-).
The Elder Grove was a friendly and comfortable hotel. Paul and Vicky were excellent hosts. The Cumbrian breakfast are superb and good variety to choose from. The bedroom with its ensuite was big enough,Lots of info for the local area restaurants and pubs.
We would highly recommend this hotel and certainly use it again.
Great location , lovely well thought out and comfortable rooms, fabulous food ( even for vegetarians like us) and most of all the great welcome from Paul and Vicky. Didn't move our car as Lakeland walks each day right from the door and ( if you've enough energy ) access to a gym / spa only 1 minutes stroll away.
Our hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Perfectly cooked breakfasts and good quality tea and coffee made for a perfect start to each day. The location is great, we didn't have to use our car for the 3 nights we stayed, either walking or catching the excellent bus service.
We liked everything about Elder Grove we really felt at home nice room and nice bathroom with bath and shower breakfast was really good everything you could possibly want price very reasonable brilliant location would certainly stay there again and would recommend.
Breakfast was outstanding, accommodation spotless, owners were attentive but not 'in your face' and the atmosphere was completely relaxed. There were lots of thoughtful extras to come across and the literature in the room was highly informative and welcome.
Rooms comfortable and beatifully designed, ecological aspects taken into account, breakfast delicious with homemade jams and marmelades, hosts extremely friendly, location perfect to catch local busses, to start trekking or to visit Ambleside town centre.
Nice freindly atmosphere, very well presented guest house where clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone in to it.
Location was excellent breakfast was lovely and the free tea and coffee offered throughout the day was a bonus.

Delicious breakfasts and excellent gluten free options. Homemade jam a winner. Hosts both available to talk to about trips out and they were both very knowledgeable about the local area. Beds very comfy .

Everything.
The slightly negative issue is the long climb up the stairs from the car park if you are staying in the bedroom on the top floor. Does keeps you fit though !!.
We didn't get to stay long enough!.
We couldn't fault it.
Nothing.
We didn't find any negative sides, besides some occasional rain :).
The fact we only stayed one night, could have stayed longer.
N/a.
Nothing.
There is nothing bad to say about elder grove.
Nothing.
as it is on a main road in Ambleside there is a bit of noise from early morning deliveries to local businesses but at least it helps you to get up for the delicious breakfast in good time.
The room was on the small side and a little dark although it was adequate for what we needed.
Nothing.
N/a. There is nothing not to like . This guest house is better than some hotels I've stayed in!.
Nothing except the weather - 3 inches of rain in 3 days!!.
Nothing.
Nothing to note here.

nothing to dislike.
Parking was good but a bit tight if you are driving a larger vehicle and later to arrive with less choice of car parking spots.
